Sunlight Sage Lag and a straightsword is all you need lol I invaded this guy at dumbdragon peak. Lag was bad but I was managing then the cops came. Brought them to the dragon parry kings and while the host was fighting those I stood right next to him and just spammed r1 then retreated again. All of my hits registed about a minute later and the host went from 100-0. Most potato host I've ever had next to the hoverbike rider I met yesterday.

Anyway, my only problem with this tech and style of play is when you're on the receiving end of someone who literally only goes for backstabs and nothing else, especially when there's a connection that's less than stellar; making them capable of walking up to you, as you strafe locked on to stay facing them and moving, and yet they pretty much backstab you from the front. I mean the times where it's so obviously bullshit because their arm pulls back as you're meeting their eyes, you're serenading them with all your love and then Great Miyazaki twists you 180 and suddenly you're being viciously penetrated and it's not ok because you're a virgin. That's my only gripe with backstab fishing as a play style, it's usually piss easy to beat IMO with a good connection, but the problem is that a good connection is less than common in DS3.

Can you show an example of a vertical ultra greatsword backstab? I know it's possible, i've seen it, but now that I'm looking for it, I can't find it anywhere. I know that the back swing will hit you if you try to roll behind it, so I always get screwed over by it.

Bruce Blankenship this is actually the best way to come to understand latency. You need to roll with the sword. When it's landing on the back swing your s are finished as you land the roll. On the opponent's screen the sword landed a half second ago. Bad latency can make these back stabs super difficult because there's no telling where the hurt box on the sword is at any given moment, despite where it is on your screen. It's not difficult to time, but yeah lag and latency can make it impossible.

The problem with gankers is they tend to forget all the lessons theyve learned in -icality class. In hindsight a host and summon san see the probacality that an invader is more than prepared to fight several entities at once. Because of their sheer numbers though, we too often see them shift there focus towards mob mencality, often progressing through each challenge and handling it so like a herd of sheep; following one after the other. But thats not necessarily a bad thing, sheep have a mostly docile and easy-going life, a fluffy white coat, and all the grass they can munch. If you're wondering why the white coat its because i only recognize white sheep as actual sheep. I guess the point of this story is dont skip class, be a sheep only when being sheep is advantageous, and dont forget to like, favorite, and subscribe.

JunoJupiter GLRR a little bit. If neither attack would kill the opponent, the back stab puts you in advantageous position, assuming you're wearing hornet ring. Because back stab doesn't lock you in a stand up animation like a riposte does.

At that last clip with the great club I'm not sure you should have even rolled for that stab. Just hugging the character model and rotating around to their back is all you need for a lot of great weapons running and jumping r1s. A lot more efficient that way.

Liam Jeanette that's true but due to the unforeseeable nature of latency, I will always opt for the roll for I-frames. Been burned too many times on hits that looked like I spaced them correctly. But if I'd taken that risk I might not have taken that r1 clip damage before the back stab.

Hey, Saint. I was thinking. With your "poise wizard" build, wouldn't the witchtree branch be a better option? Your cast speed is awful without the casting ring, and it's not like you're trying to optimize the damage of your spells. The Witchtree Branch would let you cast your spells a LOT better, and your damage probably wouldn't be very different (because your int isn't at 60).
