Dark Souls 3 Slave Knight Gael NG7 - No damage (Cheese strategy)

I always sucked at fighting Artorias but by a miracle I managed to no-damage him. This guy however gave me almost the same trouble as Elana the Squalid Queen. Here's my strategy:
1. RTSR + Morion Blade for maximum damage output.
2. Bait his charge attacks in Phase 1 and fully charged R2 his face (UG strikes are guaranteed stagger).
3. Storyteller's Staff for Phase 2. Weapon art and go in front of him to force him to get poisoned. The poison damage is INSANE.
4. Dodge him and get some hits in when you can.
A savvy warrior uses all his tools.

I clapped him with the black Knight sword, also using the cheese-tactic. ...But the BKS needs 3 hits to do so, so it was more tricky. And yes, he clapped me countless times before, in his final Phase before i finally got him. He was a tough one and i really enjoyed fighting him, even bowed afterwards out of respect for the great fight he put up, which was kinda ironic, because i wore his Armor specifically for this fight, because i thought that's hilarious. Haaah... Yes... This First and last Playthrough was just as satisfying as the previous ones.

Cheese means trivializing the fight. This is not a trivial matter, you are pulling off some precise timings requiring knowledge of his attack timings and moveset that noobs cant do. A cheese is something like standing on the outside of Manus’ fog wall and killing him with arrows, or glitching the AI on bosses so they don’t fight back. Hell, skipping Taurus Demon and then coming back in the late game is like a cheese.

Both nameless king and Gael can be cheesed by baiting there jumping attack since the arena is of both of them is so big and you can run from them easily

I dont know how i figured it out but i beat gael my second try by simply running tight circles around him counter clockwise (away from his sword) most his attacks missed and i would barely have to roll

Same here. His attacks were easy to roll and running like that to behind him and punishing with 1-4 hits after his swings lol.

Or just use etherl straight frost sword thing. More damage plus easy to use and dodge at same time. Makes the fight tint bit longer but you are less likely to get punished.

Always get him to phase 3 then the poison runs out and then its near impossible to repoison him, im ng7 like him so im not shit

I don't think so. The poison seems to scale off the boss' maximum HP. But that applies ONLY to Storyteller's Staff.

It's strange, wiith pyro flame and toxic-poison mist (int-faith 60-60) I can't do the same damage...Maybe I need to upgrade my storyteller's staff for best results?

Poison damage scales off the boss' maximum HP. In Phase 1 his HP pool is about 7900 and that's why poison deals low damage to him. In Phase 2 his HP pool is about 14000 and the poison damage will massively increase (from 46 to 113).

How can you hit him with 1600+ with just RTSR+Morion Blade? When I hit him with Lorian's Greatsword without anything else I can only damage him like 800+ that is it. I am at 226 Level and maxed out most of the stats for this weapon. My AR is 790 without weapon buff.

I don't remember, it was a long time ago. The character I recorded with was maxed out. In-game (at the moment) my AR with everything set up (RTSR, Morion, Sacred Oath, Deep Protection) is 1527. With only Morion and RTSR it's 1207. You can take this even further by using its Weapon Art instead of fully charged R2. Gael will take additional damage from the flame shockwave.

I can get my AR to 2000+ (Fire Clutch Ring, RTSR, Morion Blade, Scared Oath, Power Within, Bountiful Light(to balance the health for PW), Dragon Roar(22.1% extra damage for 6 seconds). But when the initial hit is 830 without buffs, you can only damage him with 1800-1900 with all these buffs including the dragon roar buff. At least yesterday I have managed to defeat him with 7 shots. I used the trusty Dragonslayer Greataxe Weapon Art. 2300+ damage per hit when full buffed. That is why I was asking you about this actually. You were able to hit him with 1600+ when only using RTSR+Morion Blade setup. If you include the other buffs you would be able to hit him with 2600+. So it means I could have killed him with 6 shots. But I think they nerfed the Lorian's Greatsword or increased the resistances of Gael, after your video.

With enough practice midir and gael get quite easy. These 2 bosses really reward you for learning them.

Brett Wallander are you trolling ore have you never played this game? You didn’t see half of his attacks in this fight and on a normal souls level you need like five times as many hits as he did and Gael will do a lot more damage. This guy is just incredibly high leveld and knows gaels move set
