Ludleth is specifically called 'The Exiled', so my theory is that he was a pygmy king (hence the crown he wears) but betrayed the other pygmy lords and linked the fire. Perhaps he linked the fire exactly because he was exiled and wanted to be a lord of cinder to reclaim his lost honour or even out of spite (although Ludleth seems timid and not a spiteful person). In the japanese text he specifically calls himself a pygmy. The transposing kiln in Fillianore's egg could be the connection.

Gael isn't worth a cry. He deliberately baited the player character into annihilating the painting and to travel to the bottom of everything at the ringed city, where he assimilated all of the souls of the world - win or lose he succeeded. Arguably with the help of Patches and interchangeably, Seigward.

I always felt like that these games created a unique feeling, something that most modern games can't even comprehend. This isn't just the good feel of beating a challenge. You don't kill bosses because they're huge enemies who drop sweet loot, you defeat them because in this unique world their fate demands them to be slain. Their death has a huge impact in the lore, in the world, and sometimes even in the game. The characters you meet feel like real persons. Even the most righteous warrior can have a deep secret, and even an outlawed murderer might have a good cause. These games draw in different people from all around the world, and yet, through this game, we form a community, which is none like the others. Many people, like you Vaati, work hard to tie the lore, the story, the game, and this community together. I believe I can thank you in the name of this community for your work, these games are nothing like most modern games, and I hope, that From Software next title will be as unique as the Souls games were, so that this community can continue to grow ever larger. And after the 1st million, I bet the next million can't be that hard, right :)

I just want to say that you revolutionized my souls experience, and gaming experience overall. You showed the story of the souls games, even if sometimes just an appealing theory, in ways I wouldn't have ever imagine. You had me replaying the game and really looking at the scenery, noticing weird statues, or reused assets, looking for connections from the vanilla game to the dlc. It was really rewarding when you mentioned something that I had noticed on my own. I never was able to connect the dots on my own, but it still validated the small accomplishment of noticing some small, slightly impactful detail. I also love every video you have put out, and especially like the songs you have featured. I just wanted to say thank you.

(Wall of text incoming) I was pondering on the argument in dark souls on whether dragons have souls earlier. I came to the conclusion that every creature that has a "soul" (i.e. Soul of Artorias) fades away when killed, while enemies that do not have souls tied to them (including hollow soldiers, as they have gone hollow) leave their corpse behind. However, there are many creatures whom have a soul according to this conclusion that do not drop their soul when killed, such as the player themselves, all demons aside from the Demon Prince, and NPCs. My theory is that specific powerful souls, such as the Lord Souls, "own" the souls of these specific creatures. For example, all Humans will not drop their soul when killed because each Lord cursed their ancestors, and as a result all of humanity, with a brand of fire (the Darksign) according to the Ringed Knight Spear/Straight Sword. All Demons are property of the Witch of Izalith, and Hollows lost their souls long ago. However, there is one problem; Slave Knight Gael drops his soul when killed. Is this because he has most literally rejected his humanity (and as a result the Lords' grasp on his soul) by consuming the Dark Soul, or has he found a way to remove the brand of the Darksign, freeing himself from the fate that all other humans possess? While we do not know for sure, I have another theory involving Souls. Because the Lord Souls are inherited by those who have the power to wield them, and the Dark Soul being a Lord Soul, Gael made himself equal to those who branded his ancestors with the undead curse, freeing him from being confined to the bonfire to live on, but also becoming truly mortal.

You have left me more excited to play dark souls 3 because I never got into dark souls 1 or 2, so I knew no lore whatsoever when I did my first playthrough. But recently I started playing it again and it has become one of my favorite game series, because of the amount of lore I now know from watching your videos. This is also my very first KZbin video comment ever. I just want you to know that you did make me love the soul series even more because you have done a fantastic job Discussing the lore.

DK KR- nah man. how about: NG+69, Blindfolded, no sound, no HUD, heels only, controls are randomized , not a single type of healing, -1 of every stat, everything that can become hostile *is* hostile and is constantly coming towards you, no weapon, armour(and rings) or shield, and you're taking the largest, constipated shit in your entire life, and your life is on the line if you died in the game... And we're only getting started!

I came to this channel when I'd gotten stuck on Bloodborne. My first Souls game. Listening to all the lore which I'd over looked in my stressed out state really helped me push through to the end of the game. Then to become s bit obsessed with the series as a whole. So thank you for helping me to fully enjoy these games and congratulations on your success. I look forward to the many videos to come on Bloodborne Kart.

So... I know there are a lot of lore channels out there for dark souls but honestly I always love yours the best on any topic. 1. Because of your editing. 2. Because of your lore/theories. 3. Because of that sexy ass voice... for real though just the way you talk throughout your videos really draws me in and makes me more interested lmao. Do some asmr videos kappa. Congrats for real though man :) it's well deserved

you deserve 10 million subscribers! a big fan here, I've watched everything about Bloodborne and dark souls XD, you rock mate...
@tobymcgroby89674 жыл бұрын
Vaati, that has to be the most eloquent & unique take on the million subscribers milestone, & I'm proud to be a part of it. What I value about your videos, is the way your lore videos have been breathing life back into the SoulsBorne games for me personally. For example, when I've been away from them, & I want to dive back in, I watch your lore videos to help me fully immerse myself back into those worlds. I admire the extreme attention to detail, but most of all, I admire the flexibility you have when comparing our theories to your own. ...In fact, I believe you may enjoy hearing & applying our interpretations of the stories more than you enjoy having a firm grip on the actual stories themselves. This might be false, but either way it's refreshing. Thank you for that. We've got your back, always

Coming late to this thread, but I wanted to add that your humility with respect to other people working on the lore of the games, and your willingness to give them a shout out, this makes me favour your work all the more - this on top of your meticulousness and passion for the games.

Fromsoft: *forgets to add shadows and reflections to hollow character VaatiVidya: so basically, losing your soul woul make a hollow more ethereal, because the impenetrable flame of humanity is said to be a weighty phisical force. I love you!

Shading is not tied to the character That's either a really weird and specific bug that comes from a random piece of code or is actually meant to be like this
@gamongames3 жыл бұрын
Renderers are usually set to cast shadows by default on lit mode of lighting engines and are independent of model. Same for reflections. Swapping the character model wouldn't have any effect on it. technically. It must be a intentional decision.

I recently (last night) hit 888 on twitch. It wasn't a milestone but it did shock me to see how many people have come to see me and thought, this is a decent person. I would watch what they do. Congrats on 1mill. It's been fantastic watching all of your dark souls videos throughout the years. I do hope to see new games and continue to support you throughout the future.

Regarding the red skulls from Gael and the Executioner's Gloves, could there be a link between those and the red homing skulls summoned by the Elder Ghru? EDIT - And now that DS3 DLC is over and you've pretty much covered it all, have you considered going back and doing some more Bloodborne videos? I think a lot of people would really like to hear more of your thoughts on that and there were a number of characters you never really covered.

Man, it feels like just yesterday when I beat Dark Souls 1 and didn't understand anything about the story or anything that I just saw. Until I saw your Dark souls 1 Prepare to Cry videos and such. That was way back before Dark Souls 2 came out! I also remember eagerly watching your Dark souls 2 demo videos when they came out, where you theorycrafted about the mechanics and stuff based of screenshots of new UI elements and stuff lol. You are, and have always been, fantastic! It's been a journey for sure!

When I first ran into your videos i was captivated by you, and the way you share information. I've seen you grow and become humbled by the attention you receive, I only wish to be one of the stories of a person who got lost in the universe of Souls because of you and how you described and showed me how enjoyable it really could be if I just tried it. Anyway thank you very much from England
