Ya know that the four kings do bigger damage with the sword if you're away from them ( if I'm not misstaken )

Yeah their hotbox of the sword includes the hilt which does like no damage. The only issue is that when you stay that close for ages they either nuke themselves or so the grab attack and demolish my base health bar :')

Imo, bows in DS is the closest and realest experience I can get when firing it irl. I can run a couple miles, my arm strength is only above normal but my arm stamina is shitty. Can't fire it faster. So it's like seeing myself in the game fully immersed in Miyazaki's world.

..being told bows were best in DS2 just... makes me sad, because equipment other physical weapons benefit from bows and crossbows just can't there... I have a mental ragepoint about Flynns to this very day. how did you rate crossbows in DS2? anyway, your an expert and exactly the kind of runs i'd do. well played! also, amazing musical choices and narration seem to be your standard!

Crossbows are hideously powerful, especially the sanctum ones that basically become a handheld nuke with some dark investment

@@sariuswasstolenalready I honestly found crossbows in DS2 to be.. underwhelming. By the time i got to use them, powerstancing felt like crap because of the damage debuff and wind up times the version of DS2 i played had put in (thanks Havelyn PvPers). I know you can get through the game with crossbow, but for me, i struggle to do so vs Bows. not only do bows hit faster and have scaling (why not strength scaling just because?), but I'm still pissed about how Bows got access to certain ammo types like poison, and crossbows did not. Apparently bows and crossbows by lore ( even though the scholar version SHOWS an AR increase for them on the stat screen!) can't benefit from Flynns. and to this day that confuses people. so bye bye 50 potential AR. crock of crap that is. I hear so much good about Sanctum, but Honestly ive never used it, because you basically wanna work towards a hex build to make it sing.. and they kinda have that capability already. It will ALWAYS burn me that damage wise i was better off doing something else from the sheer missed boon of flynns, nevermind how many melee weapons I favor benefitted from the same other rings that the bow/ crossbow builds did. Thanks for the response! I hope the days find ya well. I need to go lay down, but ill be watching for your other vids!

If you love bows so much, you should try the Elden Ring Convergence Mod with bows. They properly scale, meaning you can actually get some good damage out of them. I've already done a full playthrough with bows only using the mod and it was a blast!

Haven't tried convergence but the ds3 cinders mod made bows so so good the black bow especially
