It's actually an early concept for Velka's Talisman, check page 104 of the art book. The Ivory Talisman is Gwynevere's, it's based on her robes just like Gywndolin's darkmoon Talisman is based on his. A concept art version of that Talisman icon appears above Velka's Talisman in the art book. I feel that's a good basis for assuming they're one in the same, it does have what looks like bits of bird nest on it. I don't think the potential dragon Talisman has anything to do with the firstborn, I'm always suspicious of fan theories that revolve around that kind of long term forplanning.

The spiky catch pole probably isn't a reference to Berserk. From some research I've discovered that it was actually used in Medieval Europe, (which is pretty much the setting of Dark Souls).

It is a direct rip-off from Berserk. When Mozgus is introduced in chapter 132 along with his team of Torturers. The "Crow" member of the torturers carries a weapon that is identical to the "Spiky Catch Pole" which was cut from Dark Souls. readberserk.com/chapter/berserk-chapter-132/ You can see it numerous times. Not to mention that Dark Souls draws heavy inspiration from Berserk.

just because something draws inspiration from something else doesn't mean that similar items couldn't be used for their real world counterparts. it's likely that miyuzaki had intended it to be used (and dropped) by a hollowed lawman, using it as a pseudo-spear to attack with and have a grapple similar to the dark hand's. pushing it unto the player's limbs/neck and quickly ripping it off (could also have been the player's reposte attack)

That "whip" is a reference to an ancient Indian sword whip. it was made out of thin and very sharp metal sheets that would be swung around and used to hit and inflict heavy cutting and bleeding on their enemies. I forgot the name to it I think it was called the Urumi

Seems like the one I was reading had some translation errors...I have rechecked other multiple interviews and you're right...It doesn't specifically say he is the Firstborn but it is a possibility with all the development changes. Thanks for telling me this and I'll be sure to recheck any translated material in the future :)

here's a small bit of proof that they had planned out that the first born had sided with the dragons in Ds1. there is a drake guarding his shrine, the firstborn sided with dragons so it's not farfetched that he sent it there. also when you get to the shrine the drake flies off as if acknowledging your worth. ALSO the drake flies off into the mountains, possibly to archdragon peak!!!

i did give the first born a fan name since he is Lord Qywen's first born so why not have the same first name of his father's name and araam at the end? like in Dark souls 2 and 3 of Faraam Armor named after a god of war plus it does to me and this just be me, the first born v.s or allying with the dragons as shown on the helmet. It is like a old carving in Greek for example how they tell a story they use art to tell the story just as much as the Romans did as well. That just my fan name i give to the first born and i know anyone else does have a different opinion which is awesome in every way and as what i heard i think ENB mention Dark Souls 1 was a rushed game since Japan does have dead lines as fare as i understood as well so some of it was just token out because trying to get to that dead line for published as well who know

Alright if the 4 kings sword was ingame I know how I would make it great and unique. Weight: 7.0 20STR and 20DEX required D D scaling, 140 base damage, goes up to 268 when +5 1handed moveset identical to Silver Knight Sword 2handed moveset is identical to claymore 2handed move set is slightly faster than with other great swords, Attacks do lower poise damage Inflicts bleed Can't be buffed or infused. Damage Scales slightly from Humanity.

JasperGaming I don't count tumblebuffing. If so why not just tumblebuff a stronger weapon. And like with all weapons that benefit from humanity,(Abyss Greatsword,Quelaag Furysword,Chaos blade and all weapons infused by chaos) humanity bonus damage caps at 10 :) 10 humanity or 99 humanity will give you the same damage ;)

Moon Mops why tumblebuff? for the lulz of corse. why 99 humanity and not just 10? because resistances cap at 99 humanity and not 10/15, so you could do a naked 4kings% run and still be extremely tanky with fast rolls

they removed the 4 kings sword because there's no logical way to get it. you use the 4 kings soul in the lordvessel and even if they just put it in the level or as a drop, it would feel lore-breaking
