Love this vid Susan as male who has just gotten rid of his Malasma this was very helpful to add some final steps to my current routine. To the people looking for a new vitamin c serum. I've been on the hunt looking for a replacement for the ordinary vitamin c serum/cream and have purchased almost every formula out there. The most effective in cream form has been Ultraceuticals 23% vitamin cream. This sits on the skin beautifully without any grainy texture or pilling issues now matter how much you layer your products over, while giving a firm glowy appearance to the skin with minimal irritation (I apply this after I've shaved without issue).

Alot of my cliental are women of color come in and they don't want sunscreen, and older white women. However the skin care brand I work for we claim to be natural. And I feel like my clients think natrual, sunscreen isnt natrual. Which i have to pick and choose which customers I have to have the talk on natrual is a hard term to regulate. I also live in Washington State and we have high rates of skin cancer. Yet we are one of the most clueless states on sunscreen so many of my customers think a sunburn is the only kind of sun damage.

@@joerealestatem9054 krave beauty beat the sheild, I love Paula choice sunscreen, the ones I've tried from supergoop. Also i think Susan and the dermatogist would agree that there isn't much sciencetific evidence that sunscreens are toxic and if your worried about it than use a mineral or phyiscal sunscreen rather than a chemical sunscreen. But I also don't beleive that natural is always better. Sometimes natural products can be really harmful to the skin. If your using something that has lemon to brighten the skin. Pure L asorbic acid aka vitamin C, is cheap as dirt. Buy a container of the cosmetic grade powder for around $5 and add the appropriate amount to a affordable simple serum like a hyaluronic serum from The Ordinary. Just make sure you only mix up a week's worth at a time, as it is highly unstable once mixed with liquids and will degrade and oxidize.

I'm surprised they say they've never heard of not mixing vitamin c and niacinamide before. It was a common topic in many blogs & videos I watched since I initially started getting into skincare 2 years ago. Some say that conclusion (that you can't use vitamin c and niacinamide together) was based on old data that has since been disproven. But many still say it's best to use them separately especially for those persons who get temporary redness as a result of the combination of the two chemicals.

Love this series! I get so excited whenever it pops up in my subscribtions :) I have a question; I've noticed that in every video you underline the importance of the SPF in the morning routine, but we all know that it only lasts for a limited amount of time. So I put it in the morning, I go to the office and by the lunch time it irs benefits are basically gone. How should I reapply during the day, given that I'm wearing make up on top of my SPF? Any tips? Also when we're at it - could you maybe make a video about what causes these little bumps on your skin - not really pimples and not the typical clogged pores that look like a black dot. On my best skin days I can have a smooth, even complexion but I always have these tiny little bumps here and there - does this mean that the products I'm using are clogging my pores?

Commenting on mixing the ordinarys niacinamide and their vit c 23% + HA 2%, I actually did this the other night. Let me tell you, they don’t mix! It stings and pills SO BAD. I don’t mind the mild tingling from the initial application from the ordinary’s vit c so that was a shock to me how much the mixture of the two burned, had to wipe everything off! I was also under the impression that mixing these two ingredients was ok and actually encouraged, but I stopped due to sensitivity and aesthetic purposes! Didn’t know the ordinary discourages this mixture!

I am using the Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F from the Ordinary, because I was terrified to use any of the other Vitamin C products from the Ordinary after many reviews saying it burns the skin or the application isn't nice. Thank both of you for a great awesome video! I personally don't struggle with Melasma but I like to learn and understand different skin issues to have general knowledge☺️ Susan please continue to educate because it is very much appreciated!!! 💕 Also random question but I wanted to ask about that BB cream you mentioned a while ago that you use? I believe you said it has SPF and some type of formulation that helps it match your skin tone? I want to use a BB cream mostly for the SPF and remembered you mentioned one a while back. Thanks in advance!

The makeup revolution Vitamin C 12.5% is very cheap at £8, Klair's vitamin drop is also pretty affordable at a little less than £20

Niacinamide + vitamin C is only an issue when you formulate it in the same bottle & only in a super specific, unusual circumstances (info from chemist’s corner fourm, where cosmetic chemists gather to talk about formulating skin care)

Susan! Please review the Volition Strawberry C Serum! It's a 20% Vit C that is 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbate based! And such a good price point!
