I hope to reread the entire series hopefully in 2025, since the last time I fully read The Dark Tower was during the late 2000's. I read TWTTK this past September and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. 8- Song of Susannah 7- Wolves of the Calla 6- The Gunslinger 5- The Wind Through The Keyhole 4- The Dark Tower 3- Wizard and Glass 2- The Drawing of the Three 1- The Waste Lands

I love all of them, but some more than others. A brief explanation about the ranking of each entry: Drawing of the Three: I just feel it’s a perfect novel, not much to comment here. A real page turner. The Wind Through the Keyhole: For me, this feels like a really strong novel by itself, but also as part of the whole. In my DT re-readings I love to read it between books 4 and 5, it feels like catching one last breath and entering the rabbit hole just in time for things to get REALLY weird. Also, between two novels about meta-fiction and people telling stories, it’s only fair that we get to know how fairytales -the true art of telling stories- feels in a post-apocalyptic arthurian western setting like Gilead. Song of Sussanah: It’s so abstract and disjointed… but every sub-plot and multiverse mythology interest me and I feel here it’s where every character in the ka-tet gets to grow. Once I start reading this novel, I can’t stop until I finish it. Wizard and Glass: If this entry were only the flashback, it would be number one on this list. But it’s not only the flashback. Not a fan of Charlie the Choo-Choo being a part of this novel, where it has nothing to do with… anything really. Love the Oz part as a concept but not really in execution, too rushed. The Gunslinger: Loved it since my first reading, so weird even for King… not the best, but definitely good. And it really gets better in second reading. Wolfs of the Calla: Strong meta-narratives in here, every ka-tet member has lots to do, I really appreciate Callahan’s backstory… but I feel that Mejis has a way superior execution than the Calla in getting to know every light and shadow of a small town. The Wastelands: I’m sorry, I know Wastelands it’s everyone’s favourite. For me, the Lud part it’s almost perfect, but the first half of the book with Jake and Eddie and the key… I always get stuck there, it does not click with me at all. I also don’t appreciate that the book does not have an ending. Sorry, that’s not what a cliffhanger is, it simply doesn’t end. The Dark Tower: I adore the ending-ending. Simply perfect for this series. A lot of mixed feelings about the rest of the novel. Some things are really good, other are not… I just feel that there is so much going on even for such a long book, some parts needed more pages, others way less.

Sadly, I've only read the first book, and didn't really care for it. I'm not big in 'series' novels. I like 'stand alones'. I may have to give it a chance.

All I would ask is to try drawing of the three the second book and then if you don’t like it the series is definitely not for you most likely
