It's interesting how the worst outcome for every companion is them succumbing to a greater destiny. The parallel in this video are pretty explicit about this difference, and it leaves the Justiciar Shadowheart somewhat hollow. She stays a loyal pawn of Shar. Astarion becomes the latest tyrant in a very long cycle of abuse. Gale bends to the whims of his Goddess and sacrifices his life. The Dark Urge loses the strand of good they've always held onto to make way for their father's design. But all these characters have such incredible strength. All it takes is one unlikely abduction and a little guidance from the right people and they defy gods. It makes me think of the Elminster quote: "Like moons make swell and wane the nescient seas, so too the sky-strewn gods ordain the tidal fates of mortal days. And yet - a notion born in lonely hours - come ebb, come flow, come all that is beyond the breadth of our dominion: be a moon unto yourself. Even the waves of fate can break upon the shores of will."

I honestly don’t know how some people make Shadowheart a dark justiciar. I always choose the selûnite path for her and save her parents because as a dark justiciar she never learns the truth and is unhappy without realising it. Anyway, great video!

Yeah my buddy was the host when we went this path since he really wanted to see it. After seeing the aftermath, I was like there's no way i can ever go this route.
