I've handled some Mcusta's in the past and they are very well made. Good addition to your collection. Have had my eye on the all damascus model bamboo for sometime but the recession has hit me hard.It seems that anything made in Seki City is top notch. Congrats on the Mcusta.

@ethancfbz This is on of the classier looking MCUSTA's IMO. None of the locks on my MCUSTA's stick. That's rather unfortunate that yours did. Have you played with it and broken the liner lock in yet? My Yoroi has a really early lock up. The Katana did as well but after a while of use it did lock deeper. The Bamboo came perfect out of the box. @DTBroad I don't mind at all. I picked this one up from Knife Work's site. I really like them, on average they have lower prices than Knife Center... but KC has a more selection. Funny that they didn't carry this one at that time. Thanks for watching!

@SyrianKnight01 I'm not really bowled over by the Stingray and I recommend the Katana more. But I believe they are both the same size. The Bamboo is just a nice feeling knife all around! I'd be interested to know which one you got!

@Flash9590 It's a 5.11 DRT. It's a cheapie knife from them, AUS8 steel, FRN handles. Very lightweight and yes it does look like a Spyderco:)

The transition between the Damascus bolsters and the Cocobolo handles is fascinating - amazing attention to detail. Does the liner stick? Both of my Mcustas did...but a bit of a damper on my excitement.

@DJJimCowley I bought the knife off of Knife Work's site. They have some of the best prices and the fastest shipping. It was 183$ from their sight. MCUSTA's are not bad knives for their normal sub 200$ price range. Their limited editions go for well into the 400$USD. But they are usually small gentleman's folders so nothing hard use IMO. If you like this one check out the new MCUSTA Taina.

@Yesmaamiagree Good eye:) Yes I got two of them...one of them really sucks and the other one is really nice! I may do a review on them, not sure yet. I actually have plans to pick up a Microtech. Just a FYI, I canceled my original order and ordered the "knife" from a different place that had it in stock. Hopefully it will come this week so I can do an unboxing!

That knife is badass! It is kinda like the other mcusta's I have seen but I haven't seen one with the metal bolster (I think thats what it is called) before. Do you know if they still make this style?

@mickthepope Thanks! The recession is hitting everyone pretty hard. I've been crossing off knives from my wish list because I'm saving the money up for knives that I really want. just found one of these for 60 dollars but cant get it sent to ireland :( and knifecenter only has different models.... that sucks :(

i think the clip is actually made to resemble ray skin, the traditional handle material used on samurai swords.

They are nice but very small for the price. I personally like the Yoroi better, it's more my style in terms of gents folders.
