True! The way the British court system runs, he would have been up for parole in 10 years and the family would have to continually go to court to keep him in jail.

So a convicted murderer was only given 8 years for slaughtering his wife then he’s released from prison and allowed to immigrate to the UK without any parole or anyone monitoring him?? Why was he allowed to immigrate? this never should’ve happened to poor Alice what a horrible destiny for her to cross paths with this monster. All killers should get mandatory life in prison or the death penalty if they take a life they need to give up their life.

@terencehill3972
@terencehill3972 8 ай бұрын
That's the way humans are. Mostly normal, but each of us carries the potential to create wonderful or do terrible things. But it's not like evil-born psychopaths cycle around droolingly, stalking their next pray. There is always a backstory behind what led up to this. Former good boys and girls due to the experiences and baggage of their lives can turn into weird persons, believe it or not. The question here is, what made this man eventually snap. Now, he killed his wife in Latvia before. Childhood and adolescence will already have formed him accordingly, then she may have cheated on him. It certainly wouldn't be the world's first crime of passion. That's when he developed anger against women in general. Then, as he was cycling in this park in London, maybe this girl unknowingly blocked his way while wearing headphones, which made him furious. Or maybe he drove recklessly too close and she yelled something at him that set him off, who knows.

I was born in the UK but spent the majority of my life in the USA. As I live in the USA I will say I don't think in the USA we would have done that much, especially if it was a suicide or suspected suicide. I'm not through with the episode yet but I could see where it's going. I feel for the family you are an innocent girl. But maybe that's just where I live people doing amazing things when they come together.

it sounds like from the beginning the police was considering all possibilities - including a runaway case - and still did their absolute most to find Alice. In so many cases when police think someone might ran away, they don't do shit all to find them. But it sounds that these investigators considered it because they had to consider all options - and that didn't diminish their efforts. They did the absolute most to find her from the beginning.

When British people speak, they try and convey their meaning through their word choice. However, their cadence and emotional tone remains neutral. When Americans speak, we often dispense with any thoughtful word choice, instead conveying our meaning through our emotional tone. For example, an American wouldn’t say “Sooiside was a real possibility” with a same somewhat clinical/formal tenor that the man here had been using up to that point in the conversation. It could be considered rude. Instead, an American might go: “There were questions about her mental state and uh.. we were thinking… we were actually considering that “self-harm” or something more uh… extreme … might have actually been something to worry about.”

@@davidcat1455 Native Americans were never going to hold onto America. Someone was going to invade and take them over eventually, and they're probably lucky it was Europeans because nobody else was going to have the guilt to allow them to have reservations, casino's, and they probably would've faced extinction. Welcome to how the world worked, every country everywhere was conquered by someone.

That's how you can tell a true suicidal person. People who truly want death will not fight against the water or drowning. They will open their mouth to swallow as much water as possible to drown quickly. People who are trying to escape pain but not die, will fight drowning. It's difficult to explain

@traybern im confused as to what youre saying to me? I didnt mention runaways, i just said any child that cannot be found. Cause if you watch other videos of kids whove gone missing, the cops sometimes just say 'theyve probably runaway, its fine' when the kid is like 14, as if a 14 year old running away is just an ok thing to do.

2014- London - A Predator lurks - 16 year old Alice Gross disappeared and was later found murdered. Police wondered whether Alice who suffered some depression actually drowned or it was a case of suicide as police kept on looking for her body. Then a 41 year old man who was also missing became a person of interest to the police following CCTV footage showing him riding a bicycle and on the same path as Alice. This man was from Latvia. Four weeks had now passed since Alice disappeared. Then police found the body of Alice weighed with bricks and logs in the bottom of the river. Then police found the missing man had killed his own wife in lativia. Then police found the body of the missing man hanging from a tree in the forest.

I know that it's England.....she was 14, why the heck wasn't an adult with her? No matter how responsible a child is, if they are underage, an adult parent, older sibling, trusted person needs to be with them. The sentence he got for murdering his wife was ridiculous. He definitely should've gotten at least life, but when the justice system is flwed, everything involving it will be too

@@user-jo7kf2bj9s I always think this when children disappear, but even then I understand that different countries have different ideas about safety. However, walking alone during daylight is perfectly normal for a 14-year-old girl, and practically as safe as it is for an adult woman.
