Fuckboy James lore dropped. "Hey, do you want to hear the most annoying sound in the world?" Chelsea: 19:42 It's so funny as soon as I saw Chelsea's question on twitter I also immediately thought of Darkness Falls too. And just like the White Noise episode, the trailer for Darkness Falls scared me more as a kid than the actual movie I watched as I grew up. EDIT: The first live action adaptation of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" was a big catalyst in making Emily Browning one of the IT girls for the preteen 2000s. I just want to say I would absolutely LOVE a Jon Taffer podcast episode! Bar Rescue is my all time favorite binge-able fixer-upper show to exist! Jon just being mad at everything, airing out the Bar Owners/Staff’s dirty laundry, and picking fights with the Owners is an absolute brain rotting experience I can watch and rewatch without boredom. Time seems meaningless when glass cups and bug infested booze are thrown around without care or when horses and raccoons shit inside the bar. It’s something to experience. Also, James and Chelsea, I have started binging your podcast for the past 2 weeks and I absolutely adore it! I’m a baby when it comes to horror/scary movies and I love watching the film and coming back to your podcast to hear your takes on it. Please keep up the amazing work! Fun little tidbit but in the commentary track for this movie, the director for this movie is a little peeved during the police station attack. It has nothing to do with the movie, but it's the fact that Jeepers Creepers also had a monster attack police station scene over a year before this came out. It's funny because they don't name the movie but you can tell they're salty that it beat them to the punch so to speak. Plus it was arguably a lot more well done in Jeepers Creepers

I was born in 99, so I grew up watching a lot of 00s horror films (as well as previous decades); my parents just didn't care what I watched lmao. And Darkness Falls is very nostalgic to me. The whole movie terrified me, I actually hid the case under the couch because I found it to be so creepy. And I still remember a nightmare I had at the age of four due to it. My older sister and I were being terrorized by the tooth fairy monster, and she got dragged away, then that creepy masked face popped up to grab me next, but then I woke up. I recently rewatched Darkness Falls, and I still think that opening scene slaps. It's got some very upsetting sound design and it gave me chills. The rest is kind of cheesy though, but the kind of cheese that works for me. I just really like that era of horror, similarly to how James has a ton of nostalgia for 80s cheese and silliness in horror.
