There’s something so special about Darling in the franxx music, it always gives me this strange and empty feeling that adds a lot to the Vastness of the world, it’s just such a strange, lonely and yet so beautiful feeling. It’s one of reasons why I return to the anime, might be my favorite anime OST It’s a darn shame that the company is so heavily protective over its music

Judging by how the production went - unlikely. The manga is structured in a way that a second season would be conceivable, but the anime tried to cram it into the remaining few episodes, leaving the story effectively over. They can't use magma fuel, the protagonists are out(and bound to respawn only after a VERY long corpserun, probably far outside of the lives of any other characters), all the enemies are out. Sure, they could make some more slice of life arcs of the squad 13, build up the lore, but to what end? Again, the entire premise of continuity has died with the anime. It's almost like Legend of Korra - now that it exists, the Avatar:TLA franchise is dead, because it's rewritten. Or Star Wars, for that matter. Only if they'd reshoot the entire thing(not uncommon for japs), this time properly separating the plot points, maybe polishing it, writing it so that Klaxxi aren't eliminated and could play a further role. But that takes money and, it seems, the franchise has flopped.
