I would step on the scale and take a reading. No need to advertise the number. Then grab a pig and stand on the scale again. Do a little math and you will know the weight. It is a little cumbersome but less of a challenge then getting one to stay in a bucket! Happy birthday Emily! Stay safe!

You sound like you're old as dirt like I am!!😉 This young generation doesn't have a clue of what it was like for us growing up, do they! Why we even had to actually get up and walk over to the black & white television to change channels. And we only got 2 stations to watch on rabbit ears. Also just had 1 phone in the house and it was a party line with 3 other neighbors. (You sure could catch up on juicy gossip when you easedropped!!!...not saying I ever did that though😀😆🤣) Those were good times to grow up though.

I remember the television having "rabbit ears" and an antenna barely connected to one specific corner on the outside of the house, having to periodically adjust that antenna when Dad's favorite channel wouldn't come in, telephone party lines with the neighbors, and us kids being the family remote. Sooo my uncle told me how he gets his little piggies use to him is he will feed them with a bigger item that they like so they don't just take something small and run back they have to sit there for a while and eat it and while your feeding them you pet them so they get use to your touch and end result they put someone petting them with eating a pleasurable experience..and do it over and over till you don't need the food anymore..( watermelon, carrots,big leafy greens) whatever your pig shows you it enjoys to eat.. 😃

the one with feathers on the legs and is white with black tail and neck is a large fowl light brahma! we have have 4 of them and ours are very friendly as they were used for a 4-H project last year. Ours lay eggs that range from a med cream tan color to a darker brown with rust colored specks on them. They lay med - large sized eggs (ours do anyway).

Happy birthday Emily. A possible help with the "pig wrangling," is that you could possibly "hog tie" the little joker's feet so they can't kick around as much. Maybe even a sack or blind fold over the eyes because most animals are calmer when they can't see.
