I don’t care what anybody says, Daron Malakian is a damned musical genius. His music is really very simple, but it’s so relatable and well constructed. He uses ancient melodies and rhythms beautifully and it speaks to all cultures. The one System show I attended was a religious experience. I have never seen such a diverse crowd anywhere in my life. Marines, dads, moms, black, white, brown, yellow, teenage girls, chollos, skinheads, hippies, etc. It’s glorious.

I got to meet Daron after the show as i stumbled out the ball room pretty late and i was walking back to my home and I saw him standing next to his bus. I was pretty excited to see him. Told him how much i loved his guitar work and got a pic with him and left. It was a good night.
