It's worth recognizing the difference between "blaming" and "explaining". I think sometimes there's situations where the latter is perceived as being the former. His attempt (aided and abetted by his mom and grandma) to evade responsibility by playing the Mental Illness card was pure manipulation. I’m ecstatic that the Judge saw this for what it was. He never repented. He never really apologized. He had the temerity to make it all about him: this was The Darrell Brooks Show all the way. And the Judge “cancelled” it yesterday. My god: he actually had the nerve to claim that the eyes of the world have been on him during his final speech! My sympathies go out to the victims here, those actual victims that the self-described “victim” murdered and maimed. He told the detective that he knew something was not right about him driving into the parade before he made it to the parade. He did not stop. Darrell, Darrell, Darrell. Your opportunity to speak at your sentencing was a chance for you to show true remorse. It was not for you to make it all about you and your childhood. Lumping yourself in with all the victims and families and saying it is a process you all must go thru just shows you don't get it. I don't care how much of the Bible you can quote. Remember, the devil knows every word of the Bible. He knows it better than most Christians unfortunately! I do hope and pray that you have accepted Jesus as your savior and I pray you have asked forgiveness from God, but regardless you still have to accept your punishment here on earth for your sins against many people you have harmed. Trying to present yourself as taking the high road is comical at best. You spoke of the audacity of the prosecutors.....it is you that has the audacity to do anything other than take your punishment like a man, hold your head down and keep your mouth shut. You kept saying "no disrespect" but every word out of your mouth, every eye roll and glare, everything you said to the witnesses and judge was totally disrespectful! May God have mercy on your soul.

I think what's interesting is you can tell he's never had any consequences for his actions and never had to listen to anybody in authority before. He's okay with disrespecting and causing physical abuse but the moment you attack his character and he no longer feels like he's in control he resorts to a temper tantrum. It's clear he couldn't handle his character being attacked which I find interesting the most. Deep down he knew his fate...but wanted to go down with a fight and cause harm on last time by trying his best to not show remorse or respect. When atty opper talked about his character he truly couldn't handle it.. you would think someone with that much mouth would be able to handle that. It's laughable

I'm a non-medicated bipolar person with a history of hurting myself. And to have someone sit there and attribute doing something that's disgusting and violent to people because of their bipolar disorder is extremely disheartening and upsetting. This is exactly why people are always so weary of my disorder and me being non medicated. People like this blame everything on their disorder. When in reality they're just horrible people. Bipolar disorder and childhood trauma does not make you do this.

He doesn't even have BP!! So he can't use that excuse or his mama or granny!! She talks about mental illness etc but you were his mother!! It was YOUR responsibility to get your child help if he needed it before he became an adult! She didn't get him any help. She just enabled him his old damn life! He got to live in her house. We all know he never paid rent. He got to drive her car. We all know he didn't pay on it or insurance. He probably had to ask for gas money from mommy! She always bailed him out of jail! She should of left his ass there bc had she of 6 ppl would still be alive and hundreds of ppl wouldn't not have PTSD and injuries their dealing with. It's a cop-out. I know plenty of ppl with mental illness. I myself have 6 dx. I have never ever hurt another person once in my life!

Totally true, bipolars patients have the tendency to hurt themselves instead of harming others, is horrible what his mom and grandma were doing, pinning his murders to a "mental desease", they caused much more harm to bipolar patients with their statements and fed the idea that bipolars are crazy uncontrollable ppl. They both really disgusted me
@j9andphoenix2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jordan - please be kind to yourself. He isn't bipolar but if that was considered an illness for him it would be no more than an overlay. Do not feel any shame about your condition - this thing who ruined so many lives was diagnosed by 4 psychiatrists as being a sociopath. His mother said and he says if only he had treatment but he admitted to being on medication and stopping it. Whether that is true or not we would need to see medical records. He found money to buy meth and have impregnated at least 3 people. His mother gave her opinion about everyone letting him down, but his mother bailed him out several times - money that would have easily been spent on the medication she believes he should have been on. I am sorry for your struggles and I currently have an episode of major depression - I do know what is like to not be understood or to find people not there for support. x

The Judge handled this so, so well. As so many here on youtube have mirrored, she offered this man *an extreme* amount of opportunities to not only represent himself, but even participate in this trial in the first place(No one ever, will be able to say she did not do this). Whereas, most *any other* judge would have immediately thrown this man out at the first interruption and kept him out(and muted) for the entire trial. I think this also makes this a one-of-kind case, where *no one*, perhaps in the entire history of the American court system, has been give the level of leniency and patience that this Judge(and Court) have, in the face of such utterly absurd and disrespectful outbursts, disruptions, disrespect, confusion and chaos.

This dude is the perfect example of the failure of the justice system up to this day. His criminal record was so long, he committed several crimes per year. Somehow STILL got off with $1000 bail after running over his gf the day before the parade. The DA is just as guilty as this fool for the destruction at that parade. He has lived a life of nothing but second chances and get out of jail free cards, it’s no wonder he shows no remorse when he has quite literally never been held accountable for his actions. While justice may have been served in this case, it should have never gotten to this point.

I absolutely agree with you… My ex, who is now deceased, had a rap sheet that was long as the sun to the earth and back to the moon yet he continuously got off with slap on the wrist. Our judicial system is broken and this trial proves it. running over his girlfriend should’ve been enough to lock him up for at least 10 years. What is happening in our country when the innocent is persecuted and the guilty is set free? This makes my heart heavy because those of us who follow the law and who love other people simply because we are human, are often miss treated and thrown to the side because our judicial system is broken. The six individuals who lost their lives in this tragedy have left blood with Darrell Brooks as well as the district attorneys who never prosecuted him correctly. This country is so twisted
