Why is everyone asking why he is crying?? Depression is an illness and sometimes there is no reason for it people feeling so low. People who appear to have it all can still be depressed and Hollyoaks are going a great thing highlighting Male mental health in particular.

Jesus Christ I’ve never seen Darren so low in the few years I’ve watched Hollyoaks, I really hope he manages to seek help, male depression is a real thing and does need to be highlighted. I hope more men reach out after this. And it did take the suicide route in the end....nearly with Darren but in the end with Kyle. So sad😢. I lost my dad to suicide when I was only just 16 and my dad was only 39 years old. Such a waste 😢

Watching this still makes me tear up. Literally know how it feels when that dark voice in your head (depression) makes you believe that the awful things that happens to the people you love is your fault. Feeling useless in every single way and feeling like you're drowning from all the negative voices in your head. If anyone is feeling like this, please speak to someone. You're not what those voices say, you're not a burden, you're not useless, you're not over reacting and you're worthy and deserving of a happy life. Much love to you. ❤️

@@ChelseyLinden that sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. If she's known you since you was 8 then there could be a conflict of interest. Maybe she found herself feeling like a motherly figure to you. When you're a therapist, you have to disconnect yourself to the patient. If you let your own emotions or feelings take over your judgement or the advice you give the patient then that therapist could lose their license. If that's the case then she could write you off and assign you to a new therapist. If you need help then you should go ahead and find a new therapist that you are comfortable with. Having this emotion that you're betraying your former therapist could be the reason why she felt she had no choice but to stop being your therapist as it's quite a attachment emotion to have as feelings of abandonment can occur and that's never a healthy attachment to have towards a patient or therapist. :) I hope this makes sense and has helped you understand abit better that it's not a personal issue, she just has to do her job and follow the rules otherwise she could lose her job. Once a therapist has the licence revoked that's their whole career gone.

Lauren T no he’s not heartbroken over Nancy and they confirmed the baby wasn’t his! He’s in the midst of a deep, severe depression and mental illness storyline that started when he found out that DJ wasn’t really his. It’s to highlight severe depression and mental illness in men inline with the MenTalk charity and Darren’s storyline is going to play out alongside Tony’s PTSD storyline. Nancy is one of the factors that’s making him feel like this, but it’s everything DJ not being his, keeping Luke’s secret’s thinking Tony had abandon him, finding out Nancy was pregnant and the baby she was carrying “WASN’T HIS” Mandy nagging at him all the time, Breda nearly killing him, His kids starting to hate him etc... it’s a mixture of things and it’s just gonna get worse. And he’s just expected to keep a brave face on and cheer everyone else up and continue acting like a clown but Darren doesn’t know what’s wrong with him. MenTalk is a brilliant charity and it’s about time that they was brought to the forefront and start becoming known. Because out of all the charities for mental health and depression the Talk charity is the least well known they’re split into three MenTalk, TeenTalk and WomenTalk. It’s the MenTalk that’s taking centre stage in this storyline. A number of other male characters will crossover into like Tony being the main one. But it’s a very much Darren based storyline! XoX

Most viewers don't watch every soap, some watch a few, some just watch one of them and some will watch all of them. There's no rule with "copying" every soap has done depression storylines, aswell as cancer, rape, bullying, homophobia, child abuse, etc. No such thing as "copying".
