For some backstory- Darren Hayes flew over from London to sing “Lost Without You” at the ARIAS (Australian music awards) in honor of Delta who was going through chemo. It was a truly incredible moment. This performance you reacted to was when Delta was recovered- they joined together to sing it again. Really hope you react to the Aria performance. I remember that ARIA performance. So moving. Personally I think Darren's version at the arias is the best it's been sung, the depth of emotion and connection he showed to the song. Delta is great but was very young then so I don't know that she connected with those kind of lyrics as well back then.

Delta signed her first record deal at 15 (1999/2000), but didn't release her first single until 2001. She got her break on Neighbors (a soap opera that is big in Australia and the UK) in 2002 and released her first album in 2003. This album is called innocent eyes (in which the songs Lost Without You and Not Me, Not I come from), and is still the second highest-selling Australian album to this day. Delta now has 5 #1 albums out of the 6 she has written as well as 9 #1 singles and 17 top 10 hits.

i have GREAT respect for delta, when she first started her music career she was doing a meet and greet at Macarthur Square nsw, and mid signings, she went off stage, from where we were we could see her backstage behind the curtains and she was lying on the floor on her back and really ill, you could see she was really bad, and yet she returned and stayed to sign every autograph and sang a few songs, about 2 weeks later they announced she was battling cancer, tough woman with heaps off talent!

Darren Hayes came second on The Masked Singer Australia this year. His performances had people demanding a recount. If you can find any of those performances you will enjoy them. . Delta made her debut on the Australian charts in 2002. She is 39 years young.

Two of my fave people to work with. Darren was the singer from Savage Garden. This is from Darren's Max Sessions. The song is owned by Sony Music. Nope. Spin had been out for several years at this Max Sessions. This was was after the Tension and the Spark album, and close to the Savage Garden Greatest Hits. In regards to the ARIA performance. Darren was on hiatus/disillusioned with the industry and Spin had been out for 2 years abouts.

She was acting in an Aussie soap ‘Neighbour’s, she then came out with her first album when she was about 17/18 yrs of age. Just a beautiful singer, we are lucky to have her

You have GOT to react to Savage Garden, the band Darren was in; they were the big local band when I was in high school, had so many hits, I recently started listening to them again and they're just as good as I remember. Darren's voice + incredible lyrics = perfection

When this was recorded, Delta was in recovery from Hodgkins Lymphoma, she had battled the Cancer from 2003. After going into remission, the cancer came back and After a lengthy surgery, there was a compilation and Delta’s vocal cords were paralysed. She bravely had to learn to talk again. Even more amazing, she learned to sing again and come back even more amazing than ever before. We love you our Aussie Princess xo 🇦🇺

@@niamhgrace You are correct. Her cancer is fully in remission. They had to remove a calcified salivary gland and it is that which caused her to have to learn to speak and sing again after October 2018.

Darren Hayes...one of a duo called Savage Garden, no longer. They had some success in the U.S. but they eventually parted ways. Some great songs from them.

Darren is one of my favourite Australian artists ever. I LOVED Insatiable. So delicious. He was one half of Savage Garden. They were extraordinary. Their hit singles, yes. But I loved 'Two beds and a coffee machine', 'I don't know you anymore', 'The Lover after me' and 'Hold Me'. Honestly. They're sad and exquisite. I beg you do do "Affirmation" {the album, though the song is great too}. And their first album was enormous over here in Australia. And as you know, we Australians know good music. ;-)

To think this is the only #1 single from her debut album that she didn't have a songwriting credit on. I'm much more partial to 'Born to Try' from her debut album but that's just me. Delta has been around since 2002 when she joined the cast of Neighbours in 2002 and since then she has gone from strength to strength. She was awarded the highest honour in Australia this year (2022) when she received the Order of Australia for her contribution to music and her work for charity and the Delta Goodrem Foundation. She has a post-nominal so her name is officially written as Delta Lea Goodrem AM - this denotes her being a Member of the Order of Australia. Twenty years of hard work has paid off and she is truly a legend.
