This is a Delta Goodrem song. You see Delta with pink hair at the end crying. She was undergoing cancer treatment and was not allowed to sing for ages. Darren stepped up for the ARIA awards night and learnt the song on the plane from LA (or maybe UK) to sing the song for Delta. Great performance from a great singer. If you didn't realise he is the lead singer from Savage Garden.

This makes me cry. Darren (Savage Garden) and Delta Goodrem were two of my favourite artists growing up. Knowing the context around this performance (This is a Delta song but she couldn't sing it due to going through cancer treatment so Darren performed it for her).

Delta wrote this and was a hit for her but she was going through cancer treatment at 18 years old at the time she was in the audience as she cleaned up that night with winning just about everything, that was her at the end the girl in the pink crying. 🇦🇺

Channel 10 deliberately lined and promoted her like crazy at this time. Gave her an acting gig in Neighbours as a singing student, then pushed her into concerts and touring all the while she was still in Neighbours. They did sooo much, that people in the end were quite sick of seeing her and she didnt really take off until like 7 years down the track.

Yes it certainly is but the reason Darren sang it was because she was meant to sing it because she won an ARIA but could not sing as she was still recovering from cancer and having chemo. Darren flew in all the way from the UK as a friend and sang it for her...you can see at the end of his performance Delta was so overcome with gratitude for Darren.
