Ice cream 'bombes' have been served for years at State Banquets at Buckingham Palace. It's a retro 1800 dessert/pudding and this one was a Royal favorite. The Queen loves chocolate and this "oh so tasty" ice cream will become a favorite of yours too. Best part is, you don't need an ice cream machine to make it.

I saw a video of you on Facebook and just had to find you on KZbin, your channel is exploding so I'm just pleased I get to see it take off from the start, I don't know what it is about you but you just make me smile when I watch your videos, and nothing is over complicated like some chefs do on TV, you explain things well, and your full of joy, I would love to see you on British television and I wouldn't be surprised if they asked you at some point 😊 keep up the amazing work, you are outstanding 😊 P.S your stories are awesome.

I'm really glad to see an ice cream recipe for those of us without ice cream machines. I have no room in my freezer to freeze the bombe. I seriously want to eat an entire ice cream bombe.

I never knew I was in such good company Bendicks Bittermints are a favourite of mine. I always joked they were chocolate mints for the connoisseur. The chocolate on its own is of course very bitter. But it's the sweet intense flavour of the fondant coupled with the bitter chocolate. Their perfectly balanced.

Every year for my birthday I assemble a bombe in the kitchen at work (so it won't melt during transport in the summer heat to share with my co-workers). I think the one that was most enjoyed had brownie on the bottom, lavender ice cream over that, a frozen whipped cream layer, topped with blueberry ice cream, and then frosted over with chocolate buttercream.

We always had ice cream bombs with a parfait or sorbet filling inside. None of that scooping the insides out, though. Cover the wall of a bowl with the ice cream once it's solidified enough and pour in the filling in the middle.

Chef Darren, I love what you do! When I visited London, I asked for something traditional that wasn’t fish & chips. I was served a delicious order of ‘bangers & mash.’ Does the queen ever eat that simply and what’s the proper way to prepare British bangers & mash? Keep up the great work and I’ll keep trying your lessons in my kitchen!
@Holly_hamigakiko
@Holly_hamigakiko 4 жыл бұрын
bangers and mash is dead easy. Get really nice sausages, make onion gravy (you can have normal gravy - it's just not as good - the onions with the sausages are what makes it epic) and a really creamy mash with tons of butter in. we usually have it with peas :-) I would be interest if Darren has a good onion gravy recipe...i often cheat and use bisto with sauteed onions in but i would love to make it from scratch.

Do you know, that for my entire life,I have been mispronouncing 'glace'??? EVERYONE here in the U.S. pronounces the fruit gelee glace coating "glayse". (The most famous here in the North East U.S. being strawberry glace pie. ) Egad. This looks delicious.☺️ I've made bombs with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, ganache or chocolate mousse and bing cherries in the center.
