More of these please, this ain't basics, this is the good shit. It's like "stop doing these things (by which I mean elevating the cue in this case) to move from beginner to intermediate" and then "okay now you're an intermediate, those things we told you not to do, here's how to do them to your advantage." Those are the kinds of videos that the pool coach level KZbinrs can't give us but you can. I would straight up pay money for more videos like this one.

Shorten the bridge maybe a bit, but same, for power draw just jack up the cue a bit and keep a relaxed wrist.

Thanks for the tip! Please do a back to basics video focused on the grip. Most interested in which fingers are on the cue and what finger you use as a pivot point, either index or middle finger.

I've never heard a pro mention adding some elevation to get more spin but it makes total sense. Do you use the same technique for full table draw? Is that how you avoid scooping the cue ball on power draw?

I think for someone as gifted as Darren it works but I know if I elevate and hit down on a screw shot I’m going to miscue! Never tried the elevation on top spin but will try it as I struggle to hit power top spin shots particularly in english 8 ball with the smaller mass cue ball!!!

Darren, how much weight to you put on your bridge hand? Is it quite a bit to keep it solid or not very much? Thank you for all your free lessons!!! Very appreciated!

I don't put very much weight, maybe a few lbs of downward pressure. Also the softer I shoot, the less pressure. Same goes for when I have to get down really low and bear down on a shot I hardly put any pressure. I will also add that I use an open bridge 85% of the time.

hi darren. great videos i pick up lots of great info on how to play this game. question i have for you i hope you can address for me. when i am playing a draw shot I miss cue alot. any suggestions i watch you do it so easily. i believe i am trying to get to much out of the shot. i have been playing this game my whole life. Dad owned a pool room so started very young. i do have some good skills. thanks again for the videos. Don Ross. florida.
