My favorite part was seeing you smiling and having fun. Having lower expectations and something new to figure out seems to have reignited that love of the game.

Congrats DT2.0. To make the switch in a very short time and accomplish what you did today is huge. Don't downplay it. You put the time in and almost made step ladder on your first tournament 2 handed. Respect to you.

I absolutely love and respect multiple things about this video. For one, the fact that you are so driven for perfection and success that you have the sense of you let yourself down for just a brief moment ............when this is your FIRST attempt at two handed bowling in a tournament. The second, is that when you felt that first emotion, your mental strength allowed you to immediately eliminate the disappointment and enjoy how well you actually performed. Professional and personal growth all rolled into one. The mark of a professional. As always, love the vid, and really happy to see the growth.

The biggest take away, that positive reinforcement during your self talk. The difference in how you handle the situation and still punch 2 teen, verses, getting frustrated that it's not working, and shooting 160-170. Solid work!

2:31 as a mechanic at a bowling alley who has to clean the settee area as well as the ball return hoods before and after leagues, thank you so much i wish more people thought like you. Some people leave Rosin powder everywhere and just don't care, i just expect a lot more of people who are considered professionals.

Hey Darren, I was wondering if you could make a video explaining what you think about when bowling a tournament. You are so good being able to compete with both styles.

Dt2.0 looking nice. It's almost a blend with your 1 handed. The set up is the same and footwork. Which i think is cool. I thought about switching but I started bowling with 1 hand no thumb. Still trying to smooth out the 3 finger release.

ever since i started bowling 2 handed i've kept 1 thing in my head. That is simply "Monkey throw ball" i tell myself this every time i start over thinking what im doing and getting upset. That being said its insane to see how well you are doing after such a short time of 2 handed bowling. Congrats.

I wanna see you learn to throw a backup ball 2 handed. I started off one handed no thumb and always threw backup at 10 pins cause I couldn't throw straight, then I switched to 2 handed, and a couple years later I started throwing backup balls when the oil got too bad on the right side, and I truly believe you could do it too to greater effect than me :P Place your throw hand on the inside of the ball with your palm facing the right gutter and follow your swing through trying to touch your left shoulder while learning to throw it (I don't actually follow through towards the left when I throw it backup, but it helps for learning, once you have the swing down, it actually more feels like I push my hand to the left at the bottom and and sort of whip it towards the right through the shot to give me my revs)

I think you're currently in between right now. If you can bring up your one handed rev rate to 480 then I think you'll just as good. At the same time if you can bring up your consistency with your two handed throws then that's good too. Luckily you're working on both

GOOD SHOOTING DT 2.0, just a thought bro, it's just an opinion but i feel bowling and making content at the same time is very difficult and it sometimes effects your concentration between shots for sure, maybe just maybe you need to balance your talking between shots and focus more on what you need to do better always. Good luck DT, awesome two-handed bowling.

I've just started bowling and there's one thing that I don't understand yet. How come on some shots he throws at the second arrow on board 10, then on other shots its between 15 and 20, and some its between 20 and 25. I see that he is moving his feet further left the further left his target is. What is the point of these different angles and how would I know when one is better?

Bowling 2 handed just immediately eliminates the hardest part of bowling for most people; getting your thumb out quick like EJ and creating revs. Totally removing that component from the game is huge. Then it comes down to precision, repetition, ball speed control, tricks with your hand position and having good speed. When I switch from 1 hand to 2, I lost accuracy, ball speed, repeatability, consistency of my release, so much. You sacrifice so much for revs but the ball carry doesnt lie. Power seems to be the way right now. Francois won 2 majors I think. I haven't seen him on TV in a while. He has everything but revs and speed. High rev, High speed guys are just taking over.
@Ironfangzu10 сағат бұрын
Another bowler who has fabulous touch and a smooth release is Shark Prather. He won several majors as well. He's about as skillful a PWB pro as I've ever seen, along with Francois. But you are right. Neither of them have been on TV much lately. It's been the 2-handers with the 540 rev rate, plus EJ Tackett. Another 1-hander to keep an eye on is Kevin McCune, son of Rocket McCune. That dude throws the ball about 22 mph and still generates about 500 RPM. Rev rate not as high as EJ but that crazy ball speed translates into scary pin action. When he's on, his pocket is about 1 foot wide.
@ripvanrevs9 сағат бұрын
Practice! I started bowling no thumb in the 1990s. I practiced about a year before I started bowling league like that. I bowled both ways. After 20 years away, I started back a couple years ago thumb in. Beginning of this year I went to thumb out full time including spares. Average on sport shot is 20 pins higher.
@Nothingpersonal424 сағат бұрын
This is why I hate two handed bowling. There used to be a level of difficulty and a barrier of entry to acquiring a high-rev accurate release. Therefore there was competition with guys who were smoother and maybe lower power but more accurate. 2 handed just eliminates all the difficulty and work in getting high revs hence we now see world class bowlers like Darren have to switch to compete in a landscape where no one has control over their rev rate so they rely on urethane and burn the lane up and play half a tournament in front of the ball return chucking it with two hands. I know the popular argument is that two handed saved bowling but I feel that it’s done nothing but lower the bar for what’s impressive and created a sea of clones.
