My dad was severly burned in a fuel tanker fire. He was left intact which was great for me and my siblings because we hadn't been born yet. Even though his junk had been protected the drs thought the heat would have caused his testicles not to produce sperm from what I was told but he got lucky. Anakin was laying on his stomach and had slid down the slope he could have unknowingly protected his package enough to keep it. His pants in that area were still intact to when he was being put back together. The heat could have damaged his testicles even if they were still there. I'd like to think even if he was intact he was so tortured by padmes memory he didnt have any desire for anyone else. He loved her since he was 9. Imagine after selling his soul for power he never got to really benefit from any of it for one reason or another. He became ironically a perfect jedi in a way. He had no wordly attachments and was completely dedicated to his function.

The only one to undergo more pain than him was Darth Sion, The Dark Lord Of Pain. He look like a pale half dressed mutilated corpse with a missing left eyelid, his skeleton was broken a thousand times fused and rebroken again. He had no cybernetics, he survived 4 ship explosions & a planetary explosion. Because he was the dark lord of pain he couldn't die, only if you give up the force which he eventually did. The only difference between him and Vader was Vader was the prophesied Sithtiri, the one to make the Sith stronger than they've ever been before & destroy them all.

It's not only the gasses on Mustafar that destroyed his lungs but pretty simple breathing in burning air. As he was burning he screamed in pain. Screaming (and living in general) requires breathing in. When your hair, face, neck, chest etc are burning you inevitably breathe all of that stuff in. Super hot burning air will immediately destroy lungs in no time.

My aunt is a nurse she said Darth Vader definitely felt the first impact of being engulfed in flames but the worse of his pain would of been the smoke and lava fumes going into his lungs after Once it got to third degree burns on most of his body the nerves are dead and the split in his head was from the intense heat he would of felt it but due to the extreme pain of the rest of his body on fire it would of been minor pain She said he also suffered a severe concussion when he fell you can you can see his glazed look when he's looking up at Obi wan he's having a hard time focusing His lungs were collapsed hence his wheezing and his jaw muscles also were burnt badly hence his speech and his jaw being locked when he screamed out when he was getting surgery without anesthesia She said if had he not gotten the cybernetics he would of been a quadriplegic and had to have an oxygen tank , constant skin graphs, a nutrient tube and a colostomy bag for the rest of his life and he would of been of had a home care aid and would have to come to the hospital every day and got morphine daily as the amount of pain he was going through would be constant Pending the infections were dealt with ivs and medication he could of lived for the same amount of years he did in the movies she said

Another interesting fact is the suit was designed intentionally to torture him (eluded to) and also make him susceptible to force lightning. Palpatine kept him subservient and always under his control because of it (palpatine's design of course). He had opportunities to get a "new" suit with far less limitations made by his own designs but was fearful he would die in the transition, so he never did it.

The number of times the suit upgrade or replacement was cancelled due to "budget cuts" is just Palpatine slapping his dick in Vader's face. The Empire military is obviously as overfunded as the American military, but on a galactic scale. You're telling me you couldn't hide a new suit in the appropriations bill for the second Death Star? If money is tight maybe don't subtract the entire output of a rich world like Alderaan from the economy by blowing it up when doing the same thing to a poor or uninhabited planet would prove the same point. Not true.He was never afraid he would die in the transition because he would routinely have the suit removed to scrub off necrotic flesh and somewhat heal in the bacta tank. The reason he did not chnage the suit was because all that pain and hate that it caused him made him very strong.

His very suit was the very source of his strength, but also an emotional tomb. Anakin/Vader believed he deserved the life that he has for the choices he made. No matter how many times Vader tried to keep Anakin away (mentally and even spiritually) the depression of Anakin always came to Vader which is another reason why he believe he deserved a tormented life inside that suit. He could’ve been transferred using the bacta tanks like what was shown on Mustafar in Rogue One, but to be a Sith is to live a life of pain and agony.

Look at it like this. They used a bodybuilder to don the suit and most artwork of him beneath the suit shows his remaining musculature indeed as quite developed. This makes sense because, firstly, he lived a highly-active lifestyle as a Jedi already and continued after being in the suit in a dark reflection of said physically-demanding profession. Now, his remaining biolgical upper arms and legs were athletically-developed muscles used to moving biological lower limbs. Well, imagine what additional, constant exercise those remaining biological muscles got everyday by supporting and moving now much heavier cybernetics. So, while we have objective stats on the strength of his mechanical body parts, we can infer that the natural muscles left were basically working out every day.

? I don't think that's how this works. You either stay in the fictitious or you don't. You can't use real world special effects and prop making and then use that as a bases of how strong and surgically/cybernetically built a fictitious characte is after an almost fatal encounter because of how a costume was modified around a body builder. @Jayme Splendid I think the point holds water. His back, shoulders and chest muscles are still responsible for moving his arms and his quads/ hamstrings still move his legs. Only now his forelimbs are metal instead of flesh. The remaining muscles still could/ would be quite well developed.

As far as reproduction goes, Vader definitely couldn't. First there's the issue of how hard it would be to expose his groin area without damaging him in some way, then there's the difficulty he would have in moving comfortably to do that. Even if he had a special chamber to do that in, someone actually asked Lucasfilm once about how Vader would pee, and was told the necessary parts were burned too badly to do so, which is partly why his suit takes care of waste for him. Since it's confirmed that he was badly burned by fire in that area and we know his entire body didn't even have natural skin anymore, I seriously doubt he'd have much left of the nerves in that area, and more disturbingly, he might be effectively a eunuch, almost totally lacking that body part. The more you know about Vader, the more it makes sense that he ended up as a raging, murdering, and often sadistic monster. That's probably how a lot of menwould be if they had permanent itching, castration by fire, no ability to enjoy food or properly sleep ever again, and felt betrayed by almost every they knew shortly after watching their mothers die from horrible alien abuse. I'd say Vader actually had a much tougher mind than most people, being able to go through that much and retain any amount of sanity at all.

I've seen similiar videos about D.V, but this one really brought home the internal mess that he was. He did, in fact, have the opportunity for a "cutting edge" top notch suit. But, as with everything involving D.V., there was always a "catch". The first was to complete the transfer, there would been a part during the procedure where he have would been entirely helpless and completely prone to death. He didn't think the payoff was worth it. The second, of course, would have been a significant loss of power due to a considerable loss of pain that helped produce his near constant rage. I've always been curious how much he would have evolved had he lived. I mean its entirely possible that he may not evolved much at all, being under Sidious' thumb. He was a great deal more intelligent than Palps gave him credit for and learned much on his own and was learning more all the time, but like I said earlier you "Marvelous" dudes really laid out the mess Darth Vader was both physically and mentally...but at the same time you pointed out something else. Despite "the mess", he overcame nearly all of it AND off'd Sidious and did it by doing something Sideous didn't see coming! \m/

There was a better designed suit available later on (which could have been put in to begin with but Sidious liked that the one he had caused him pain for multiple sick reasons) I’m not sure I think he became aware of it in later stories but chose to keep the one he had as it helped his rage which strengthened his connection to the dark side.

The suit for Vader was cumbersome, sounds at times, would be obscure sometimes it was like him hearing underwater, the necrotic flesh used to itch constantly, his legs and feet are made like general grievous, which canted him forward.

You know, this is really disgusting. Emperor Palpatine had to had been actually really sick in the head. So after seeing this, vadar really must had suffered a lot! So on his operating table I can actually see palpatine not probably giving him any painkillers as the robots cut into vadars flesh and into his nervous system and rearranging hiszspinal cord and stuff. I really think palpatine maybe might had just gave hime enough so it wouldn't kill him, but I'm really starting to think it probably also caused him to finally pass out being we see a waking vadar thereafter. Then going into the pins digging into his flesh and such stuff. Like omfg... I really feel sorry for this guy and what he even went through in his life, (kinda reminds me of me) but this dude, there's some serious shit done to him such as tis suit that really really screws with your perception of him in what we were meant to see in these sugar-coated family genre films.

His suit was meant to make him a useful tool and servant. It had a lot of useful traits, but it wasn't high tech for the world. The Emperor wanted him in pain, controllable, and not a threat to usurp him. Had they wished most of his problems could have been corrected and he could have been pretty much unstoppable between his enhancements and force abilities.

We know that having a mate is forbidden to Jedi. They never tackle whether Sith forgo this restriction. Since they embrace passion it would make sense that lust would be part of a Sith's life but they never go there. We also don't know if Vader still has the equipment because they never answered the question.

Besides having his "berries" and "twig" (as many commenters have pointed out) cooked like a weiner roast on Mustafar, we also have to consider the constant number of drugs being introduced into his system that keep him sane and functioning! Some drugs (especially antidepressants!) have an unfortunate side effect on the reproductive organs--rendering them useless! (Speaking from experience, here!!)

The reason of his constant irritation was his itchy cloned skin, it wasn't synthetic skin. Even Luke had cloned skin. Starwars wiki and the books says that. Mechanical limbs for amputees have been around for 3,000 years by the time of Vader, connect directly to the bones and nerves of the amputee. His mechanical limbs actually makes him taller. If you could see in the dark how come he couldn't see Luke when he was fighting in the emperor's chamber, it wasn't that dark. The low apparatus on his back was connected to his lungs not his helmet. The only time Vader could sleep was inside the Bacta tank. There's only inaccuracy of the video.
