Start ep 9 with Rey finding Luke secluded to protect what is left of his padawan after the loses of his nephew to the darkside and a portion of his academy through the fault of his clone. Thats a movie I would watch. Make it so Palpatine set this up before his death, never bring him back. You explain Snoke's ability through the bastardization of the Skywalker line. Luke never gives up on his nephew, he dies in a meaningful way. Sorty for the text wall, I could rewrite the Last Jedi 100 ways, lol.

I haven't read the comic yet, but since to said they didn't confirm directly that it's Luke's hand, I think another possibility may be more likely, that it's Anakin's hand that Dooku severed. Yes, he did cut it off a bit higher up, but the end would be charred and useless anyway, and if Palpatine had been using it for cloning experiments for decades, you would expect some tissue to be missing. The "I can make ANYTHING" would also have the implication of "I could even make YOU", which also fits with the suggestion that those "not Sith" clones could replace Vader if he falls. 'You're disposable; I can make more'. It seems a better logical fit that Dooku or Palpatine had someone retrieve Anakin's hand and deliver it, because Vader was in charge on Bespin, and HE would have been in the position of ordering Luke's hand retrieved, because he was the one who knew it was severed, so it wouldn't be a surprise, AND he would have gotten his old lightsaber with it, which he probably would have destroyed. Someone in Palpatine or Dooku's service could have gotten to Anakin's very quickly, where anyone who wasn't dispatched by Vader would have been much later in retrieving Luke's hand, by which time it would have been much less suitable for genetic material sources. Regardless of whose hand it is, that doesn't mean Smoke has to be a clone of that person. As I understand it, Palpatine has a great deal of trouble trying to make Force wielding clones from Force users, because they don't have the "M count". Those pesky microorganisms kind of go where they want. Which is why Groogu is supposedly needed; to pull the little buggers out of his blood. Perhaps he had been experimenting with pulling those that remained in the hand out to put into clones. It wouldn't make a very powerful force user, most likely, with such a small supply, but it's something to learn the technique with. And then one of the presumed clones/potential replacements for Vader could 'take his place if he fell' fighting them, because the Emperor could then strip Vader's body of them to put into one of the clones. Possibly. It could ALSO be a bluff. It could be anyone's hand, or even a hand cloned from Vader's tissue obtained when Palpatine rescued him after the duel with Obi-wan, that Palpatine wants Vader to think I'd Luke's hand, or his own, to manipulate him. It's not like Palpatine doesn't employ mind games to twist people to do what he wants from them.

And he failed at getting him killed, which was due to the fact Sidious knew Vader would never reach the power level to overthrow him. Vader withstood every attack from his master. @@nate8604 Dude, I read that story. The Emperor was merely testing Vader. If Vader was strong enough to survive, it would prove he was worthy enough to be Palpatine's apprentice. If he didn't, that meant he was not. And Palpatine never attacked him himself in that story. In the new comic series, Palpatine absolutely destroys Vader and would have killed him if he wanted to.

@@nate8604 That is the way of the Sith. Vader proved himself strong enough. Palpatine didn't WANT Vader dead. These tests were only that. Tests. If Palpatine truly wanted Vader dead, he would have done so himself. If the apprentice is unworthy, the master must find another. And if the apprentice is worthy, he will destroy the master. Vader was strong enough to be Palpatine's apprentice. But not atring enough to be the master. Once Luke came into the picture and Vader couldn't overcome him, Palpatine realized Vader wasn't the second strongest anymore.

I also would really like if Rey’s father was a clone based on a mixture of Palatine and Skywalker blood...it would help explain even more how powerful she was and would certainly make the Skywalker line at the end feel more earned.

I mean with the feedback Disney got for the way Lukes character was handled at this point I wouldn't be surprised the slightest that the entire sequel trilogy, the luke we saw, was just another tool / pawn to palatines game and a perfected clone was created to help push Rey closer to losing hope in the jedi and seek the sith out.

@@ash_vagabond3308 unless they create a TV show explaining the story of luke from ROTJ to TLJ, the only way to completely make sense of his character is to change the role of luke in sequels, make a short series explaining what happened to luke after Kylo destroyed, could always make his character go further into the unknown universe explain why he wasn't in actual galaxy etc I always like the idea that palpatine was looking for something in the unknown universe and exegol was just a stepping stone which he just couldn't get past and came to the conclusion that it wasn't his fate to go further but he knew it was that of luke skywalkers, all those observatories of the emperor were set up for luke to find leaving the necessary resources for him,.that would create a whole new layer of character for palpatine

Makes you wonder a lot of things, just how much does Palpatine know? Did he know about the fight on Cloud City? When and how did he retrieve the hand? How long has he known Vader was plotting to overthrow him (all siths do it so I know he knew to a degree) will this lead to answers on how Max Kanata retrieves Anakin’s lightsaber (the child slayer 3000). I think Palpatine created his clone by using the hand of Luke Skywalker and then his clone got a daughter named Rey - still having the Skywalker Blood in her. And because of this Luke's lightsaber called to her. And because of this she had the force connection with Kylo. And because of this she was from the very beginning a fine pilot when she used the Falcon to escape from Jakku. Change my Mind ! :-)

There's scenes in the Mandalorian which seem to imply that Moff Gideon was using Grogu's blood to create force enchanced beings. It might be that snoke began as these creatures made from Luke's flesh but ultimately became a Chimera of many others - Grogu included.

Maybe Vader didn't think Palpatine had the capability of coming back from the dead after he killed him? He might have figured all his Star Destroyers on Exegol would just sit and be forgotten after time. He should have figured Palps had some plan for immortality and more Sith loyalists. They just had to tie it in with TROS and I'm not a big fan of the sequels.

They could have done so much with this hand, for example, making Rey have Skywalker DNA. Palpatine would try to use the midichloreans from the hand to make clone bodies for himself so he could be as strong as a skywalker. That way Rey would have REALLY had Skywalker AND Palpatine DNA and massive amounts of midichloreans, and that would have explained her connection to the lightsaber and Luke and Leia, etc, and why she was so incredibly strong even with no training. But of course Disney couldn't think to do that.
