Actually, Plato is a child in this game. You can meet him while debating with a couple philosophers during Sokrates trial. His real name is Aristokles and he’s sitting on a ledge listening to you. So he couldn’t have wrote about Atlantis yet.

9:23 they DID know. Did you not play the Desmond games? They not only knew the surface would be scorched, but spent many years trying to come up with solutions for saving people. Everything failed, but they were so advanced, they could set things up to talk to Desmond in the future, somehow knowing his ancestors would be in the correct spots and he'd be viewing their memories.

There's too many inconsistencies. Let's just say Odyssey takes in a parallel universe. Here's an interesting one for example. Juno and Aita both died when Cassandra/Alexios destroyed Atlantis they both were imprisoned by Poseidon both experimented on humans to create the beasts like madusa the cyclops and the sphinx. They also wanted to enslave humanity and were the reason hatred with human and isu were happening in Atlantis. In AC3 Juno tells us a different story that she killed aita after aita lost his mind and kept researching way to save the world from the sun. Then she said it was human who revolted against the isu first. Which turned into a war. Then in AC4 we find out aita is John who's also a sage and is a human who just keep reincarnating . They sort of ruined the isu story beyond repair. Also Juno apparently gets decapitated in a novel. But in ac4 we saw her die because she was too weak. Then she was brought up again for ac unity. They don't mention Minerva or the isu that speaks to bayek in origin. Shit come find out that same isu armor bayek had which everyone probably thought was special was some armor you can just loot from isu commanders in Atlantis and they come in different colors. Making the isu dude from origin obsolete. None of the other games mentioned aletheia until Odyssey. But according to Odyssey aletheia was always on the human side helping them lol I'm done AC in general has turned into a clusterfuck. And don't get me started on Layla. Every other protagonist before her were related to isu and human which is why Desmond was able to control the apple and open the vault. While Layla can just dig out a corpse extract DNA and bam be able to also wield poe xD

All of the AC games suffer the same issues you actually demonstrated. Your only shown criticisms being the dissonance between the gameplay and the story. This comes from the AC franchises's limited gameplay and mission design structures. Odyssey may have been inspired somewhat by narrative structure of RPGs and taken things like branching dialogue but it didn't adapt RPG gameplay systems and mission design structures to facilitate it's new form of storytelling.

In Kingdom Come Deliverance I never had to clear out a fort loaded with professional killers and knights to retrieve some crap someone 'dropped'. There certainly were huge leaps of logic happening in KCD but that wasn't caused by dissonance between narrative and gameplay but derived from the narrative itself and the nature of a roleplaying game.

A long her husband aita who'd story was also retconned Odyssey did nothing but to retconned the whole isu story. Minerva was also retconned and was turned into aletheia.

If you compare between the previous Assassin's Creed games, you can tell how varied each game is. The change from the Brotherhood and Revelations to ACIII is huge, as it added a ton of gameplay mechanics that are included in the future games. Unity is the best example of an Assassin's Creed game - emphasis on gameplay revolving stealth, parkour and platforming in an open world enhanced with a ton of side quests. Origins is a huge change that can easily be considered a game from a different franchise, if not for the story. Odyssey, on the other hand, has choices, which entirely opposes the modern day storyline that has all but been forgotten. If it were a game with a great story, Unity gameplay, a developed modern day story and a world the size of Odyssey and quality side quests as well, then it would be the perfect Assassin's Creed.

@Sahib As someone who's played litterally every AC game since the first, I prefer this one nowadays. 1, 2 and brotherhood were great cause they all each added something new. But it got too repeatitive. Now black flag is widely loved, but be honest, it was as much an AC game as Odyssey is, it is one of the best pirate games to date. but it wasn't really anything new on the AC part. The only thing they should have added with Odyssey, is that no matter what level assassinations kill instantly, but in higher level zones you'd just have a way harder time because if discovered the enemy could just instantly kill you. I think that would have been a better option. that way you got this great game, but still keep the assassin playthrough we all love. because tbh, I'm max level and I need specific gear to instantly kill some enemies. and thats usually rarely enemies on the same level.

To me, in Odyssey, the most old-style Assassin like experience I got was toward the end of the family storyline when you are back in athens and a huge chunk is "out limit" (red zone where guards attack you on the spot) with 3+ (5 most of the time) mercs after your head. Had to sneak around or risk alerting 10+ guards at once plus nearby mercs... Best moment that gave me old AC feelings... too bad that moment happens only once throughout the whole game. The RPG gameplay of Origin and Odyssey is a nice change of pace but they need to make more quests feel like old AC titles where pretty much everybody in the city is after you so stealth is mandatory if you don't want to fight 10+ ppl at once.

Alexios it's the better deimos. Cassandra is the best for main story. But I choose alexios over Cassandra because alexios voice reminds me of a Spartan ezio. There's also parts of the games where Alexios kills it more than Cassie. For example watch alexios voice acting when his wife neema died. You could even hear the snot 😂 xD

Well they actually made two mistakes with their representation of Olympics, first is the one you mentioned, competitors were nude and the second is that no women were allowed to participate in this event. Which if you take a closer look at the audience there are few.

I ended up doing the Atlantis part of the base game long before I finished the main quest line, and at the time I felt like the Atlantis part was the actual ending rather than the whole plot involving the family. This video just confirms my suspicions.

180 hrs here and that’s only the main story and Fist Blade. First time playing AC. My younger brother used to play when it first came out 10-15 yrs ago. Never found it interesting. But that changed when I purchased this game and then I just can’t get enough of this. I find myself googling the new ACs game every now and then. I am so late to be jumping on AC bandwagon but this game was my first game and I absolutely love it. The side missions are a bit tedious but I played that on purpose so that I don’t finish the main story.

@@CrystalDSmith Its because as far as the story goes, it just doesn't make sense when you try to link it with the other games in the franchise. It introduces creatures like Cyclopses and Medusa and just takes the whole mythology of it to an extreme. Also the fact that you can make choices in the game kind of defeats the purpose of a story thats supposed to be set in stone. So as a standalone game with no ties to the AC world, its a great game with its own story and good game mechanics. But when you try to link it with the other AC games it just stands out and seems way too different to realistically be a part of it all. Just my opinion though, and I still loved playing the game because like I said, still an awesome game.

@@reyn3558 well I only played the first assassin's Creed didn't like it and didn't really enjoy the franchise until Origins so I'm not going to be as knowledgeable as you want understanding why it's not as good. I do like how they Incorporated a lot of accuracies from Greek history as well as mythology. But some of the storyline didn't really make sense and seemed to stop without closure. Other parts had no Arc and really didn't seem like you could make a choice. but I hope they do continue to move the franchise forward in an RPG fashion because it gives the replay value so much more. But I will say that the actual assassin's Creed storyline of Layla going in the Animus I could do without. So I think I do understand what you're saying. It's not really necessary to keep that same kind of story line going in this sense. I think it's too much and it doesn't necessarily make sense.

Um no it's differently around 383 years or so. Odyssey takes place around 431 BC during the Peloponnesian War, whilst Origins takes place in 48 BC in the intermediate years of the Alexandrian civil war between Cleopatra and her younger brother then ends around 30 BC with the her death.

Assassin’s Creed I did the same shit where it made you move from one location to the next just to finish one mission... and it’s critically acclaimed and revered between a majority of AC fans. I don’t understand the hate for Odyssey. People wanted change and something different, so that’s what Ubi did. Also, as for the pick your destiny stuff, you choose what you do, but what you do is how it is presented in the Animus, so it isn’t altering anything. However, I do agree that they should have marketed only one character and only focused on them because I feel like both protagonists lack a certain main element that could have been achieved if they had focused on one main character development, rather than market Alexios, then throw in Kassandra, and pivot to her as the main, and polarize the entirety of the protagonists. I don’t care if it was Alexios, or Kassandra but I feel like Alexios is more historically accurate and could have been better. Kassandra was still interesting though, but I personally liked her more as Demios. Anyways, that’s my opinion, I still think it’s a really fun game and a good addition to the series, but I would like a Origins 2!

I actually like Cleon's line at 22:50 ; I think you overlooked the fact that Cleon knows that Alexios is actively trying to kill him. And I assume that he shoots Kassandra on purpose because he knows how dangerous she is and tries to save himself by killing her before she will turn on him. Dont think of AC Odyssey as an Assassin's Creed game. Think of it as just an RPG with Ancient Greece as a theme. Everything becomes waaay better

I disagree with the issue of not being able to do quests with the increasing level cap. I played on hard and never ran into an issue of level cap. I do always fully complete a zone before moving on. So maybe that helped me always be up to date with the main mission level.
