First light on Dartmoor is something special and although the location in this video has been visited many times before I couldn't resist another one. A 3.30am alarm call caught up with me in the end but the light and images captured during my time here made up for that.

Watching this made me realised I should shoot colour more often. I've just popped a few rolls of precious Fuji Pro 400H in my bag for a trip to Derbyshire this weekend, along with Delta 400. I'm going with my wife and the dogs so will be shooting hand-held much of the time so need 400. Tanks for the great video, lovely results.

I tend to expose for the shadows and develop for the highlights when shooting b&w film and use colour filters as they work great for landscape photography on Dartmoor. Ektar 100 can handle high contrast scenes, no need for grads with either film stock; Velvia on the other hand… keep up the great work. I will say hi if I see you on my Dartmoor travels.

Another great video Lee...very nice pictures and compositions. I agree with the last picture in B&W to be the best, but all of them are good of course. I prefer the 50mm lens for these compositions especially the tree at the end. I saw (video beginning ) a glimpse of your new “RV Conversion”... it appears you are putting it to test...congrats! When you get a chance a video would be great. BTW, I’m looking for an RV also in the near future! Cheers...

Thanks Alejandro. I do like that tree although the first shot in BW was my favourite. That tree at the end did have better sky though. 50mm is great, not too wide but still get that ‘walk in’ effect. There is a video somewhere of the first stages I did. It’s nearing completion now at last !, so maybe an update video soon

It's funny, because when I watch other landscape vloggers, its a case of; 'I wonder where that was taken' But in your case Lee, it's more like; 'I know where he stood to take that image' Good work. Considering adding a 6x6 to the Intrepid now myself.
@LeePengellyPhotography
@LeePengellyPhotography 4 жыл бұрын
Yes it is a popular spot !. The 6x6 format is so good for composition well worth adding it, saying that there are 6x6 Horseman backs that fit the intrepid

Beautiful images all around, hard to choose with the first couple whether color or b/w is best, but that last tree shot is incredible in black and white - it is exactly that for which black and white film was made!! Looking forward to checking out your 6x6 web site!! Cheers!

Hi Lee, I have no axe to grind here, but I am just now in the market for a 6x6 camera, and I have looked for months to find a Hasselblad in my price range. Not to be, But... I stumbled upon a video recently about the Bronica SQa, and started looking at images on 500px. Is it just me, or do the images out of this camera, look better than the images out of the Hassy? They seem sharper, more contrasty, and overall very pleasing. I am looking for input from working
@LeePengellyPhotography
@LeePengellyPhotography 3 жыл бұрын
I was the same when looking at 6x6cm and finally decided on the Bronica as I used to own a ETRS many years ago and knew they were simply designed, cheaper yet produced good images. The lenses are very sharp and combined with a slow grain film it produces brilliant results. In terms of comparison I don’t think there’s much difference between them although I’m guessing the blad has better quality lenses.
