Been murder lately after I said in another video . Got a designa stand 3 days ago after not managing to practice , just a pint and a throw on a thursday which was no use . Taking points on board and kinda starting the basics again,so your videos are helping Dave . Have managed about dozen 180's since got stand 6 last night . I had severe dartitis for many years and throw was so natural and quick but had to restructure my throw over last few years and is now very mechanical and slower but it works apart from odd snatch and will hold on to odd dart . Not many can say recovered from Dartitis .

Thanks, really interesting. You mention consistency and reducing variables but it’s noticeable from the side profile that your head is in a different position to the wardrobe behind you. When you throw the 180 your chin is in front on the wardrobe, but before that behind.

Hi Dynamite Dave. You talk about the importance of a good stance. Look at the difference between your 100s throw and your 180 throw. Compare your chin position on both. Use the dartboard in background as guide. You're closer to the board and lower on your 180 throw... how about a video on practising with purpose....

Love your videos and it is helping me improve a little, so a big thank you for doing them. I do have about the mechanical throw as outlined in this video in reference to the elbow being level - is this still the case when shooting at the bottom of the board like D3? It seems to me the only way to shoot a D3 or any of the numbers at the bottom of the board is to lower the elbow down a bit, but I would love to hear your take on that.
@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn5 жыл бұрын
Keeping the elbow up is achieved by tilting at the hips but keeping the upper body straight. This video should explain how it's Done kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3ykfHSsrLZpp6s

What is the best way to choose what weight darts to throw? I have a good throw but I'm torn in which weight and shape I'm best with.. Let me EDIT this a bit now that I've watched more of your videos, great videos by the way, I threw the same set of steel tip throughout my childhood and into my 20s, they were my father's spare set, but they were given to him by his father from when he traveled to england, so when I moved across the country i had to leave them behind due to his emotional attachment to them, and I never knew the weight or length.. the state I moved to is a soft tip dominant scene, so I can not find steel tips to hold or try out, and have to order off the internet, I have ordered multiple sets but it's getting extremely expensive and none of them feel as natural as my original set, what do you reccomend?
@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn6 жыл бұрын
It's one of the few things that is down to how you feel. I personally tell players to choose darts on how they fit your grip ie I usually go for a tapered front end like the Carrara C3 from target or the Harrows aura 25g if you like a slightly fatter barrel then red dragon Delta 2s are great. If straight barrels are for you then the member 2s by RED DRAGON are an awesome dart. More weight gives more control and better penetration at the board. So go with what makes sence and feels right if you have a solid throw it makes very little difference what darts you use.👍👍🎯🎯
@thatdude53226 жыл бұрын

As I commented on the last video the one variable I see, and one I struggle with constantly, is grip. Everything else can be like a clock but if I'm fighting with my grip my accuracy goes all to hell. The only way I get a somewhat consistent grip is by using Mighty Grip but even that is only half the time as it's not always effective. I've tried lots of different darts but it seems I have the same problem with pretty much everything I've tried. The Harrows Verve's I'm throwing now have been by far the best but still I struggle with slippage on a regular basis. Any advice you be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dave!

Can you play at a high standard without alcohol
@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn5 жыл бұрын
Yes Defiantly alcohol is a relaxant and a stimulant acting on different parts of the brain in different ways Alcohol at low levels can assist you to be more positive and more calm under presure but in some people it workes the other way. At high levels its impedes your thought prosses and makes most players crap Except jockey Wilson of course lol. So my advice is stay away from it if you want to become the best and this is why the game is changing from a pub game into a multi million pound sport and as with motor racing golf tennis Etc Etc has become as it has now. In the old days the riders players would come out half pissed and get on the bike in the car on the fairway and win but as the money goes up the emphasises changes from just playing to wanting fame massive pay-outs and (Darts is entertainment just like football it started modest and look at it now from £300-£400 a month wages in the 60s to way north of £300.000 a week now as we all know money is the driver of all top line ports today. Cheers Dynamite Dave...

Hi Dave, when I set to throw in this position with my arm up ready if I close my left eye my whole arm and hand blocks the board so I can't see so I guess I'm relying on my left eye there or will the dominant eye play a part when I pull my arm back. I don't pull back to my eye but to the side like you say but when I set to look at the board in this position and close the left eye the board is blocked by my arm and hand. Is this normal? Thanks again.
@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn5 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve you should be looking direct at the board past the throwing arm with both eyes just like when your driving as your arm swings your brain will compensate for the changing view just like if your driving and you get an itchy left eye doesn't mean you will crash if you itch it you brain adjusts your perspective. cheers Dynamite Dave.
