Friend, if you missed all Daryl did with Sherbet back to the early 70's YOU are in for a Wonderful Blessing: Start with Slipstream. I enjoyed my weekend with Anthology - listen to "Freedom" - the words are so VERY now. Then listen to Higher than Hope and Rise. Sounds to me like you just gained a whole WORLD of the best Australian band that has ever performed. EVER. I know that's a big call, but listen to Daryl in "Freedom" and do the air drums in the BEST drum solo ever and tell me I'm wrong Friend! Much Love and GOD Bless Daryl.

WOW still love all the songs but this is one of my favorites. From the comments I can see that John Farnham sings backing vocals another fabulous musician. I did not know that but thank you for letting me know. He was not on stage though when Daryl performed on TV in Denmark I would have noticed. It was playback but still awesome!

I'm watching this video in Ireland where Daryl Braithwaite is, admittedly not well known here. I came across this song from watching the film "Peter's Friends" years back. The soundtrack to the film is full of famous songs from Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen, The Pretenders, Tears for Fears etc and this song is featured at the ending credits. The song along with the poignancy of the film's ending is a strong one. I bought it on Itunes and its on my Ipod. Its quite a Gem in Australia's musical arsenal, if I may say so.

Aussie Brothers and Sisters to prove Daryl was DECADES ahead of the rest, please give "Freedom" from Anthology Album a listen. This should be re-released (complete with Alan Sandow's MOST AMAZING DRUM SOLO EVER). In fact we could go back to Slipstream and re-release most every song and I KNOW everyone would fall in love with this music all over again. It is timeless, brilliant and unique. Now, go listen to "Freedom" and turn it up and have your "air drum sticks" ready to go! You WON'T be disappointed. WE NEED DARYL'S VOICE, THESE LYRICS AND THIS MUSIC IN AUSTRALIA NOW MORE THAN EVER! GOD Bless Daryl & now I'm dreaming of a Sherbet Revival Tour. . . . ok, I've been on about that for 30 years.

I love this song and the perfect pairing of Daryl and John Farnham in the background. John also sings backing vocals on Higher Than Hope and a few songs off the Edge album.

My brother went to Ozzy from NZ to live, he sent me this CD and Tommy Emanuel's first album. Fell in love with this song for about a year, then I was watching Baywatch and lo and behold, this song was on an intro. Still love it.

I know so many of his songs from when I was growing up, but I never knew that they were all Daryl, youtube is lovely for chasing the past and getting really nostalgic haha I miss the uplifting spirit you can only seem to find in older music, modern music doesn't move your soul like the past

My love of life just gets stronger As the days go by And some things I wish they would last Just a little bit long longer As the days go by And some things don't look to me Like they used to be, no I get a little closer to (As the days go by) A little bit closer to you (As the days go by) I get a little closer I'm coming back to you Sure as the wind keeps on changing direction I've come to understand, there's no such a thing as perfection And what went on before Doesn't matter anymore I get a little closer to (As the days go by) a little bit closer to you (As the days go by) I get a little closer I'm coming back to you To you To you Cause things don't look to me Like they used to be (As the days go by) I get a little closer to (As the days go by) a little bit closer to you (As the days go by) I get a little closer to (As the days go by) A little bit closer to you (As the days go by) I get a little closer I'm coming back to you
