Given how successful both Kill Bill films were and the fat paychecks Daryl Hannah and Uma Thurman were rewarded I would say it most definitely was. Now of course neither of them should have been put in a predicament on set that would endanger their lives but they both agreed to star in the films. I recall Uma Thurman complaining about the graphic violence when she had already agreed to be in a graphically violent film.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure she would have done great as Kiddo, but she was just too perfect of a match for Elle's character.-Also Beatrix Kiddo is supposed to look very young, that's the whole point of her character (you can see more about that when Bill and Kiddo are in China, the night just before he introduces her to Pai Mei). I wouldn't change a thing.
