When I first got my licence my mum would say "be careful on the roads!", to which I'd always say I'll be fine because I'm a safe, responsible driver. With many years of driving experience I came to realise she meant to be careful of everyone else because no matter how good of a driver I am, you can't predict what others are going to do. Even now in my 30s she still tells me to be careful.

Totally agree. I rode bicycles and motorcycles most of my life. Drove a car as well. After a few collisions with other drivers doing dumb shit like in this video, I ended up hypervigilant with more than a little PTSD and it got me into Road Safety research/advocacy. No matter how careful I was, you just can't control for people doing insanely stupid things and you being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I've dodged death countless times by being hypervigilant and either slowing down or getting out of Dodge City. Still, no matter how careful you are, no one can compensate for everything. I gotta say, this video channel validates all the bonkers crazy shit I used to see before video recording. I'd tell people what I was witnesing and they thought I was FOS. @@JohnSmith-pl2bk I will bet they did, though likely the city still took another 10 years to get a round toit and finish the work. Had that occur by me, with the house, we were living in temporarily, get demolished after we left, and the street expansion only going through 5 years later. The plans had been proposed 10 years before we moved there, so the house was still owned by the original company, which also had to move to new premises that they, due to the expansion, got as a greenfield swamp for a very low price. Bigger, room to expand, and they expanded to triple the area for almost no cost other than lost production, moving all the plant there over a 2 year period. Plus they brought in another company, and used the common facilities to cut cost at both. They planted dewatering pumps there, took the swamp down, and started piling rubble on the silt, and compacting it for 3 years, before placing a massive floating slab on it, that was used to support the entire facility. Across the road the other massive manufacturing plant also did the same, when they expanded, though they also had to dig down 10m to fit the machinery there, so have dewatering pumps going all the time.

Please, stop me if you've heard this one. A mild mannered man walks by a car dealership. He looks in the window and he sees an enormous ute all shiny and HUGE!! He thinks to himself "Imagine how safe I'll be driving that monster". He purchases the vehicle and he himself becomes the monster. he drives like an entitled maniac, ignores road rules and creates havoc wherever he goes. He adds extra rows of ultra bright lights to flash blind anyone he feels has slighted him on the roads HE now OWNS. He is the Australian ute driver. Male or female it doesn't matter. If you drive a ute you are a risk to everyone on Australia's roads.

19:48 Now I know trucks have a blind spot, but come on, your in a city, the car driver wasn’t doing anything wrong except driving. The truck driver either needs to sort this blind spot out or not change lanes until 100% sure.. because this car was not at fault for just being in their lane
@mospeada11523 ай бұрын

1. Drivers must resit and retest for their licences every 7 years 2. International licences expire after 3 months at which point that driver must sit and test for an Australian licence 3. Vehicles over 1700kg require a special permit, to be reapplied for every 3 years except for business registered vehicles 4. Arseholes who go down the wrong side of the road can be legally slapped, mugged, and have their car keys chucked down a drain, preferably far away from where the offence took place 5.
