I think I found this song the year he died, maybe one year after, coming home from tired days of work. I came upon it from autoplay, and when trying to find it again, because it had enchanted me, I could not for the life of me find it. It took me some more days of autoplay to find it again to get it again, and I fell in love with the music and the atmosphere in the video. I then looked up the artist and found out he had passed some time before. Rest in peace!

This song was in my drifting playlist when my friends and I would drive around all night learning how to drift. We’d spend our last dollars on fuel and tires, stay out til’ 3 or 4am just to drag ourselves to work at 7 the next morning but it was all so worth it… it’s been 6 years since they stopped, they’d rather sit around smoking or drinking so i used to go out by myself. Sold my last drift car over a year ago to get a mortgage. This song reminds me it’s almost time to get out there again. RIP

New Year's day 2019 I was in a club in Berlin with some mates. I had been absolutely obsessed with this song a few weeks earlier, but got tired of it eventually and hadn't listened to it again. Left the Techno floor around 5am for a breather and went to a smaller floor with a girl from that group of friends. I will never forget the moment when this song came on. Recognised it within the first two notes of the intro and went absolutely nuts. In that moment I knew it was gonna be a good year. Made out with that girl a few minutes later and we've been together since. Thank you Daso for the memories and rest in peace.

Peace and coming together is all fine and dandy, if possible. But there are powers in this world who, if left to run things, would make it nearly impossible to create and enjoy this kind of music. They are on the rise. Trump, Bolsonaro, Erdogan, Orban and their followers would certainly censor music like this because it is too longing and gives too much room for emotions that are not tied to the nation's pride.

Incredibly good… this is a kind of music that brings you back to your childhood, makes you miss something that you don’t even know what. You wonder, what was the producer even thinking, feeling when making this? what kind of mentality, state of mind he has to have to produce such a thing? I always come back to this, I always will… RIP DASO..

I was reading an interview to a DJ that I’ve been listening lately. His name is: Alex Bessofen. This is what he answered when asked about his favourite track: “Meine by Daso It's one of the tracks that I like to listen to the most, especially because when I do it at specific moments I feel like it transports me to different places I've been or would like to be” I played it right away and man!! this track turned my world upside down and I listened to this track for a whole year and it turns out I was depressed when I was high. And when I found out that Frankie died exactly a year ago, I was saddened and wanted to become the same DJ who had a mood and a story in every beat... I’m 25 years old now and I would like to visit the places where he played in Berlin and talk to his friends. Since I am no longer the same Alisher who was in 2019 and my attitude towards music has changed for the good. I appreciate music in which the DJ conveys the mood and narrative without words. I would like to become a sound producer in the future...

All of these videos remind me of the quote of Dziga Vertov: “I'm an eye. A mechanical eye. I, the machine, show you a world the way only I can see it. I free myself for today and forever from human immobility. I'm in constant movement. I approach and pull away from objects. I creep under them. I move alongside a running horse's mouth. I fall and rise with the falling and rising bodies. This is I, the machine, manoeuvring in the chaotic movements, recording one movement after another in the most complex combinations. Freed from the boundaries of time and space, I co-ordinate any and all points of the universe, wherever I want them to be. My way leads towards the creation of a fresh perception of the world. Thus I explain in a new way the world unknown to you.”

This song was Daso’s mark on the world. I don’t know his other music but to me this music is about energy in the galaxy, stars colliding and the energy it expands. Similar to when you meet someone who completely blows you away, there’s that explosion of energy and whilst that star may have been travelling for millions of years in its lone course when it collided it creates phenomena so rare but so spectacularly beautiful that it can’t be recreated.
