There is already a lot of IT in Surveying. Most people get into surveying through a geo-informatics degree. Most of our softwares are made by Surveyors with the help of IT people though.

I cab confirm this is true. I am an ERP administrator without a degree. I hold the highest paying tech post in my unit after the director. I actually teach directors and municipal managers how to use the system at its best.

I’d still advice young people to get their degrees if another pandemic comes people get retrenched based on qualifications too hey

But not everyone can get a CS degree, and obviously, this is not advice, just showing others what they can do, especially with those degrees with no jobs. They can get into tech but definitely not advising scholars not to consider a degree.

@@liferesetwithboni Yes. But, did you see how Mikhaela is getting her degree, even though she got the job without one. Mikheala is a senior, that doesn't need a degree. But, during a recession, the ones without degrees get retrenched first. We saw this in Silicone Valley, & during the "tech bubble". Correspond with a university & get that BSc

Either one of those. In a job interview, you can talk about the project that relate to a job requirements

Both can work, find one that aligns with the type of skills you have. If you have web development and Data analytics skills I’d say create a website with all the relevant projects. But if you have only data analytics skills, having your projects on GitHub still works perfectly fine. Just find a way to have recruiters access your GitHub projects on your resume maybe by using a link or by having one of the greatest projects you’ve done as an intro to recruiters accessing your projects on GitHub

I am going to start training for data analysis and would like to know what to expect when interviewing for the role.
