In the same vein as Worf Gets Denied comes Data Interrupted, all the scenes I could find of Data being interrupted for his excessive babbling. Data is my favorite character and I would love to see Brent Spiner comment on this video, just as Michael Dorn responded to Worf Gets Denied.

Fun fact, if you fail a mission or lose a ball in the TNG pinball game, Data may talk to you. If you hit a flipper button while that is happening, you’ll hear Picard say “Thank you Mr. Data” and you get a 10 million point bonus.

Throbelisk actually, if you listen to spiner’s interviews about data (there’s a series on here, kind of a character profile), he admits that, although it’s said that data is emotionless, he is capable of feeling in his own unique way. data’s lack of emotion is reiterated only by himself throughout the show- yet he feels anger in later seasons, before experiencing the emotion chip. and right before soong’s death, he suggests that data WILL mourn in his own way. basically, from what i’ve gathered from watching this show multiple times over the span of a decade, data isn’t unfeeling, he is just not feeling in the sense that he doesn’t experience the whole spectrum of human emotions in the way an average person may. i suspect that if they hadn’t granted him the emotion chip in those questionable sequel movies, he would have stumbled upon more on his own. he is a growing and learning life form. maybe an outside-force was necessary to prompt these feelings, but i find that this is true with humanity to a large extent as well.

This wa really the Data show. Every other character and situation was there to enable Brent Spiner to riff as Data.

i love the politeness with which they tell data to stick a circuit board in it. they know he is just answering their questions completely and what he hopes to be a satisfactory degree, but they also understand that there are only so many hours in a day, and the show is only an hour long.

Sarah Pryor yeah, honestly it’s on his own word that he doesn’t have feelings but his behavior throughout TNG makes it hard for me to believe. probably accidental on the writers’ part, but they made him quite relatable and very sweet.

I think he was so likeable, despite constantly annoying everybody, because he had no ego. When he was confused by irrational human behavior, he responded "I have much to learn".

If you play the Star Trek pinball game, and you sometimes miss the ball, Data will say something like "If you had plotted the ball in the proper trajectory, you would have been rewarded". If you press both flippers whilst Data is talking, Picard will cut in with a "Thank you Mr Data", and you wil get a 10m point bonus.

Data always had trouble with human emotions and understanding of patience. But he strived so hard to become more human, and recognize the mutual understanding of his comrades. Knowing that Data was willing to learn and grow, and thus be as human as possible, was what made him so warm and liked by others.

It's sad to know that few people took interest in Data and often shut him up. Geordi is one of those few who would listen to his lectures. Data may be an android, but his heart is much more human than many.
