OMG, that opening dialogue was awesome. LOL It looks the part, and the sound aint too bad either. You picked the right intro, the perfect amount of syrup.

The counterweight had a screw hole where you could put in some kind of screw to stop the counterweight from moving this would add additional weight to the counterweight and may be responsible for the difference found on the scale. I have never seen a counterweight that didn't come with a screw to keep it in position.

If this tt is around 200$ or so it's worth it. My improvements to that model would be adding a removable headshell, anti-skate feature and a tonearm lifter or (like you said basically) make it a fully automatic tt.

Looks pleasant, odd counterweight arrangement, usually you have a split weight/dial with a friction pad, so that you can zero out after floating the arm of course. Very strange this. Also, on the opening of that "music" the piano is a little fluttery, so quite off-putting. Anyway hopefully it was really inexpensive! Looks kinda nice but actually fits your description in your 3rd alternative intro 😮 nice video as always brad :) oh, and I liked your old video on the film to video player, flying spot machine that you did years ago, as you asked recently, x

excellent english accent thought i had a wrong channel but I like this TT I think that the acrylic cover on TT is a great idea a lot of people complain even when they order a high gloss TT that it is a dust magnet or fingerprint magnet then why order it or very simple idea DON'T touch it and a simple micro fiber cloth is great for glossy surfaces ,I love shiny things most of my TT's are from the70's and had a real wood bases and in those days gloss was not popular but I always liked it and if for some dumb reason it should get scratched ,it can be polished with acrylic polish it works on several of my dust covers on my TT's brought back some real scratched up ones back to life and on that counter weight i never trust what they say on weight have bought 2 new TT's in the past and were factory set so that you did not have to do it yourself but I found them always off it was a good idea to check ,on that cart the tracking force can go from 2 grams to 4 grams so it was reading wrong onsetting but it was still within settings ,I am not a fan of manual TT 's but i only have one manual TT evrything else is auto but I would consider this one it has caught my eye and I like its look ,i think intro #4 was the best one JRo

So. That counterweight only works with this cartridge, which sort of takes any sort of 'half decent' out of this record player. It's a perfectly suitable cartridge, better than what most people buy as 'upgrades' for way more money, but if you have a removable cartridge, the counterweight has to support that. Now it's just an after thought. Also no anti skating setup, and as far as I can tell that's pretty much the arm of the Crosley C6, which is not a bad arm, but the cables are incredibly stiff and they continuously drag the arm, you can't make it move smooth on 0 grams. I have worked on and setup hundreds and hundreds of record players in my life by now, the normal counter weight system (with the scale on the actual counter weight) is spot on without exception. This system is just insanity.

I would like to point out two things you said you wish the player had… it does have an auto stop when the record gets to the middle of the record. It takes about 2 minutes and than it does shut off. Also, that lowest know is a play/pause (start/stop) knob. So you don’t have to keep reaching behind the player to turn it on and off. Other than that I did enjoy your video and other videos as well.

Are you sure that the scale on the tonearm refers to grams? It may just be a numeric scale for ease of use. The recommended tracking-force range for the AT3600L is 2.5-3.5g
@BilisNegra Жыл бұрын
You might be right. If that's specified in the manual, well, ok. If it's not mentioned and that counterweight is just a copy of some part by another manufacturer and that's the only reason behind that peculiar scale being printed there...Well, that would be kind of shoddy.

expensive $1 million audiophile turntables doesn't have dust covers, i don't know why. but i guess it has to do with vibrations or something. thanks for the review, it's a good turntable for enjoying music.

Great video as always. just a curious thouht about the weight. Could it be too heavy? for the placment of the scale or is the scale in the wrong place for the size of weight.

Wow, so much of this is a Rega Planar copy it's a wonder they've skirted copyright so much, But then, Chinese I guess.... Anywho, regarding the counterweight, they will ALWAYS be wrong on these types of thing because quite simply it's completely dependent on what cartridge you use. My Rega Planar I use as my daily driver I chucked the Rega cartridge (a rebadged Audio Technica like this), and installed an Ortofon Tango moving coil thing. The only downoside is it's too light so I had to add a weight on the headshell to use it properly. You should ALWAYS use a scale frankly.

Dude, no. This turntable wouldn't fool anyone into thinking this is a high end piece of equipment. That conical AT-3600L cart is a dead giveaway that this is a starter unit. I'm not saying it's junk, I'm sure a beginner would love it. But it isn't fooling anyone who is familiar with turntables. Conicals are good for old 45s and dusty old thrift store finds, but that's about it.

@@senorverde09 I had a AT cartridge that cost as much as the entire unit today, and that's 80's money...Everything today is low ball china. What I hate is how china specs are usually lies. I bet the entire cost to make is about $30.
