I’ve recently converted to islam im in a relationship 2 years prior to converting my partner is not religious at all in anyway…why should I drop her to find marriage with someone who is Muslim? If you genuinely believe that their dynamics can be compared then I can say nothing but feel sorry for the relationship you have with your father/mother. Of course those sorts of abuses can happen, but that is something that one can never prevent without prior knowledge, but the abuse of a random man to a random woman can definitely be prevented through modesty and meeting under halal guidelines. With regards to your affiliation with the West, that's true, you are your own person. However a person's environment always shapes them, and you are only a product of yours, so it was a logical assumption from myself upon you. Nevertheless, I don't doubt that you have morals that many people including myself agree with, but if one was to follow their own inclinations, we would all be very lost. For example, there are certain people in this world who genuinely believe incest is morally right and they practise it themselves. How do we correct these people? Are they just doomed to be weirdos from birth? No, we all have morals but they are always falling short in some areas because we don't have the foresight that God does. Why do scholars need to be present? That seems just so absurd that your religion says to ignore and not have any contact or speak with the opposite sex without scholars (men) present. It's just so old school it's almost backwards. I think that religion needs to adapt to modern social norms. What seemed correct 2000 years ago, isn't the same now or should be followed now. I have a very interesting view on religion. Having grown up Catholic I started questioning my faith when I wasn't getting answers that made sense to me. How can the church condemn gay marriage or gay people in general, but "promote unconditional love". I don't know, it seems like there are conditions. Why does the church not have to pay taxes? Why are sexual assaults not paid enough attention too? What good religion or loving God tells people to throw stones at others? I think there are many problems with Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and that some people of those religions hide behind their faith to justify being terrible people. I also think that religions were invented to control the masses and provide "Answers" for questions people of the time couldn't yet answer. Religion has been weaponized by greedy people seeking greater and greater power. I myself, don't need to have an afterlife, I just want to be a good person on this planet. If there is a heaven, splendid, if not, I can rest happy. I don't understand how me being born into Catholicism makes me any better than someone born into Islam or Buddhism, or how I will go to heaven, and those who do not believe in my faith or my God would not. It seems terribly arbitrary and made up. Who is good, who is bad. Why should my atheist friend go to hell, he was always a nice person to me and others. That judgement seems so harsh. That's not to say that Religion doesn't have its positives, I like the ideas of religion, be good to others, the golden rule, give to the poor etc. But all I see is so much hypocrisy that it makes me sick. Going back to the video though, I think it's silly for a girl and a boy not to talk to one another. If the worst thing that can happen is that boy and girl having sex outside of marriage, and you're concerned that the temptation of talking to each other is the catalyst for all of that, and there is nothing else that can prevent that from happening, then you simply need to try harder and have a proper talk with the young people about consequences. If the only thing stopping that boy from raping that girl is bystanders, then there is something morally wrong with what that boy has been taught and how he has been raised. It just seems silly that simply talking can lead to such devastating things from happening. It doesn't allow anything good to happen either. It also treats the women like cattle if she has no say in the matter and decisions are forced upon her. Just loads of problems overall.

Sadly from where I'm from, this is called being a third wheel, if you try to include or bring along a third person, the person you're dating will be confused of why bring a third person when the date is only about you 2 or despise you for being immature or be suspicious of you. Because it's not common to have a third person on dates. The most preserved family will let you have your date in an open door room or open yard. Never a third person near you in 20 feats vicinity sometimes they won't even bother watching over. The worst case, that sadly usually happens is that parents find out their daughter is dating, but they won't bother or suggest her that she needs to have a Wali. Or the parent cares but the daughter hides it from her parents or she argues with them to leave her alone or give her privacy. Wali is only referred and used when the man is asking for the girl's hand from her guardians. Maybe this is because of cultural differences or maybe our parents aren't accustomed to it.
