Great video Ben! You guys brought up good topics: reputation, big rocks analogy, networking, balancing and prioritizing life. I was wondering if you could've asked another question on supporting yourself financially. As far as how both of you fund your program, did you work during MBA, save up money to pay for it, or receive money from family? etc. Thank you!

This was your best interview. I feel that often the people you bring on sound like they are advertising and soo G rated. Cherie is very easy to listen to

thx for the feedback! i think being able to chat with someone where the focus doesn't have to only be about work and can be about more "fun" topics also helped quite a bit

I cant quite put my finger on it, but this one flowed way better than others. Maybe because the topics are a little lighter or there is more back and forth, but this was an easy listen. I think I'd like to see interviews with entrepreneurs too.

Awesome collab! Do you think you or Cherie would do a video about interviewing an MBA grad from a major state school and their experiences? Like someone who graduated from Alabama, Penn State, Tennessee, or something along those lines. I think that would be an awesome video!

Surprised to hear Ben didn't know the Big Rocks analogy. By no means, I am saying it disdainfully, but I'd imagine professors at Wharton would have atleast mentioned once.. its a pretty common analogy in the corporate world. Also, the guest is not explaining it well, she is talking about rocks,pebbles, etc. but idea is to fit everything in one jar - put big rocks first, followed by pebbles, lastly sand. If you start with sand (lowest priorities), the jar is going to fill up and take up space, which will leave no space for BIG ROCKS (most important priorities). Although I did MBA, I feel more and more that its just networking and financial modeling. Nothing besides it. Completely pointless degree. Just get high test scores to enter, and basically with job you will start at level 5 of 10 if you do MBA from good school, as oppose to level 2 with just bachelors.

I’m stumped between studying economics, finance, and accounting. been thinking of double majoring but I dont know which of the three to pick. Any help would be really helpful!

Finance would definitely be best for the finance industry but economic and accounting can also be good. But if you are interested in IB or any of those types of jobs finance is best.

Wharton is a great school, no doubt about it. However, Stanford and Wharton are not comparable, to be honest.
@matthewjean-mary27613 ай бұрын
It depends on what you want to do after the MBA. Wharton is better probably for getting into certain finance gigs in NY. People from GSB tend to go more into the tech space, and other ventures on the west coast.
@titusp94883 ай бұрын
Q1 If you were an investment bank, who would you hire between these two? Q2 If you are hiring for a management level person of a large company, who would you hire? Wharton is a great school for finance and accounting, but it's absolutely one of the worst in terms of management; just look at his thinking and responses (inarticulate communication and lack of depth). Cherie is and will be so much more than a number cruncher.
