I never cared for dating, for a few reasons. 1) As far back as I can remember, whenever I have a meal, my body/brain almost immediately falls asleep, it's an uncontrollable siesta, which can be dangerous with the wrong date, plus, I never enjoyed having to carry the conversation,imagine how this is making them (the date) feel. 2)I don't think people are truly themselves on a date, they all seem to feel they are cleaner versions of themselves, we all know that date doesn't really do laundry in a timely manner or make their bed or do dishes right after use, we know they are licking the spoon and putting back in the drawer,because hey, they live alone and think that this makes them more green. 3)They would never really spend that much on a meal and really are not comfortable with the cost, I know you are quietly cutting out necessities while looking at your menu, it's okay, I would rather just grab a hot dog at the bowling alley anyway....but I can't tell you that because I don't want to come off as cheap, but really, bowling is spendy, have you gone lately? So I prefer to meet people at friendly BBQ's or gatherings,then there's no pressure, because if you find yourself not interested, simply excuse yourself for some chips and dip, then grab your bestie, drag them in the bathroom and giggle about what was wrong with that spoon licker. So whats your preference?

I know the term "ghosted" rather for breaking up friendships or even relationships than for dating. When you are dating the reason might be obvious, but not when you have been friends for a couple of years. Being ghosted is quite hurtful, when a trusted person all of the sudden breaks contact and all communication (!), which includes stating a reason or even the slightest notice explaining what happend. They vanish like a ghost, hence the name.

I am male 56.. divorced 7 yrs.. I haven't had a date in those 7 yrs. ..which meant no sex.. but what is more important.. I spend all my time alone. I don't make a lot of money.. which seems to be most important today. I have no family, my best friend died and I have no other friends to hang out with... I have no woman in my life... and it doesn't look good for the future either. I miss love.. I miss intimacy, I miss having someone to talk to.. to hold.. to laugh with.. to go places with.. Being alone sucks. I know nothing about dating at my age.. I've never been this age before. I know nothing about women anymore.. you can't approach them.. they don't WANT to be approached... well.. not by me that's for sure. Dating sites suck.. never met anyone off of them.. Men can't approach women without feeling creepy anymore.. because it's been made clear thru feminism that showing interest to a woman is basically the same as sexual harassment. So Men like me... can't approach a woman. WHERE would you approach them? Can't meet at bars anymore.. can't approach them in public.. that can just cause trouble.. she could freak out.. etc.. Can't approach at a grocery store.. I don't want to be thrown out of the store for trying to meet a woman there. I don't go to church.. forget that.. It's all a mess.. I dated in the 80s.. it was so much easier.. you go to a club.. you dance.. you get a number.. you go out.. so easy... so simple.. no cell phones.. no internet bs.. none of that crap. Women WANTED to meet men... they didn't look at you like you were some kind of attacking Animal like today. They flirted openly back then.. let you know they were really interested.. maybe they don't do that today because the no longer are interested. I don't know.. but it looks like I'll be alone the rest of my life.

74Robinos Actually worse for women. If you aren't the thinnest or prettiest, men look right past you to the thin and pretty. Men don't even bother trying to get to know a woman unless she is thin and pretty. Women tend to not worry as much about the outside appearance and actually try to get to know a guy first. That's not to say that women aren't attracted to a guy who is good looking, just that looks aren't what's most important to them. Haven't seen a guy yet go over to the slightly overweight, plain looking woman, passing over the tall, thin bombshell seated just past her.

74Robinos Don't know where you live but it seems that it's the complete opposite where you are from where I am. I'm not "ugly " just average and yet not once have I ever been "hit on" by a man. I think maybe just saying "watch Netflix" because literally just chilling out together is sort of already implied if you guys are watching Netflix/t.v. Or you could say something like "watch some Netflix and eat ice cream" so they know you have specific plans besides just watching Netflix but those plans specifically aren't sex. Or you could just be very forward and say "I would like to literally watch Netflix and chill... just hang out and not have sex." That's why if someone asks me if I want to "Netflix and chill" I'm always very blunt in asking "Do you mean literally Netflix and chill or do you mean sex? Because I'm all for watching Netflix and hanging out but I don't want to have sex." Or if you do want to have sex, you could just respond "Or maybe we could watch Netflix and have sex?" lol.
