This is an incredible piece Marina and crew. Feels like a large budget film. I appreciate the "Georgia" hook at the beginning and the humor sprinkled throughout. Be that through guests or seeing Marina's personality while drinking something. Love the edit where the next clip comes through the instrument. Smooth transitions that are natural. Most don't even look like Georgians; in my opinion, more than half of the people there are not Georgians, but Armenians or other ethnic groups. Personally for me. Tbilisi is a very mixed and multinational city, there is almost nothing left of the original Georgian (mentality, character, even people are not similar). There is absolutely nothing from real Georgia and real Georgians. If we talk about real Georgia, then you need to go to rural regions where the population lives mono-ethnically - Megrelia, Svaneti, Imereti, Khevsureti, Guria, Racha-Lechkhumi.

About the last question, Georgian people are still very hospitable, but with some exceptions. Because of the war in ukraine, some Georgians may not be happy to see Russians here. It's not about Russians themselves, it's about putin. If he manages to win war in ukraine, there are big chances that he will move towards Georgia too. If there are many russians in Georgia, putin may say that we are being rude to them and that we are fascists and may start a so called "special operation", just like how he did in Ukraine. Keep that in mind and welcome to Georgia❤

First happy to see you in my country, I always wanted you to make a video about us and Thank you! As a Georgian I have something to say: 1) Russian movies taken about us in Post soviet union is their imagination and their attempt to represent Caucasian people as uncultured, not educated vandals. whereas we are more old than anything about slavic culture or people. 2) The information is partially accurate about dating. Women are very open just men does not have enough courage to start conversations in live. Georgian men and women does not watch seriously love affairs with Russians. they are free nights. 3) from Tinder and bumble you can find really deep and serious relationships in Georgia. 4) Georgian men with Georgian women are super loving gentle and nice. but even men want to find financially independent women, well educated and their standarts are not only about beauty. 5) deep financial problems make dating process and rules difficult. დაიკიდეთ უცხოელები, გავა წლები და გაანალიზებთ რომ არაფერი ჯობია ადამიანს ვინც შენს ენაზე დაგელაპარაკება დღის განმავლობაში.

I can't believe this video is only 4 weeks old and how outdated the information is. First, you don't need a so-called digital nomad visa. If you are a citizen of 60 countries you can stay here for up to one year visa free. And if you want to stay another year, all you need to do is leave and come right back, even on the same day and get another 1 year. Second, I don't know what rocks you people have been living under for the past 10 months, but there is something called the Russian invasion of Ukraine. That has caused well over 100k Russians to flee and settle here. As a result of the massive influx if US dollars combined with overall world inflation, Georgia is, well, no longer cheap. In fact, rents have gone up on average 80%!

14:26 This type of scam happens in Russia too (and maybe in other countries also). Guy would match with a girl on Tinder, and she would suggest an exact place to go (restaurant, bar, hookah, etc), but she might have a connections with the staff members of those places. I also saw these profiles with black pictures on Tinder, but I honestly thought they meant something else 😅 Thank you for this video, it was interesting to watch 🙏

lmao I don't think I would promote the digital nomad visa for Georgia. Rent is 4x-5x Higher now then 7 months ago. Everything cost more, and the cost of living in Georgia is equal or higher then many European and American cities. Georgia is AMZING, but again, promoting the visa, unless you make 200k USD/Euro a year, not a great place when you have maybe 20% of the infrastructure and accommodations as western Europe or the USA.
@DatingBeyondBorders
@DatingBeyondBorders Жыл бұрын
It was really cheap when I went there in August. Definitely more expensive than it used to be, but compare this with living in other European (digital nomad) destinations, say Lisbon and you see a huge difference.
@houseaccount3293
@houseaccount3293 Жыл бұрын
@@DatingBeyondBorders Yeah, you can find a bit more expensive flats in Lisbon. However the average rent went from $300 usd to $1500 usd a month back in Feb and has not come down at all. Sure things like vegetables here are very cheap. Dairy products, meat and fish tend to be far more expensive then in other European countries. Georgia is a 9/10 in my book, but it now cost $2,000 a month to live in Tbilisi if you just moved here and don't have a way to find a more affordable place to live. And that is before you add entertainment and dinning cost. For the same money, I could move back to London and have a access to far better infrastructure, dinning, events etc. I do not plan to leave, however more expats are leaving now then coming.
@jw841
@jw841 Жыл бұрын
@@houseaccount3293 I've heard the same from digtal nomad friends who have just left Georgia. Its becoming expensive fast. The same with Lisbon Portugal. Getting expensive and I found it generally overrated as a digital nomad destination. I'm now in Osaka Japan at the moment and have found it an overall better destination. Good infrastructure, lots to do, friendly people and pretty affordable. All my costs here are less than $850 a month. Thailand is also still a great place to go as a digital nomad. Unfortunately if Georgia gets more expensive it just might not be worth it anymore. Better places to go that are more affordable and offer more in terms of dating and day to day living.
@houseaccount3293
@houseaccount3293 Жыл бұрын
@@jw841 That is the real issue right there. Too many people here do not understand the harm they are doing to Georgia. You have apartment owners, charging $2,000 a month, and demanding up to 6 months down payment for an old Soviet flat, they rented for $150-$200 last Jan. And it is not just the rent, everything from food to goods and services. There was a gentleman on FB a few days ago complaining about his water being shut off 22 times in 5 months. With no warnings for when it will happen. Georgia is a beautiful country with the historic parts and the country side, and when you get to know Georgians, it is like adding members to your family. However between the atrocious customer service, the rapidly climbing cost of living, that is outside of that from inflation. More people are leaving Georgia then coming to Georgia.

@@user-ns5ho6rk3b Yeah it happens, but more often georgian men prefer to just 'have fun' with russian women and marry georgians. It happened more in past though as georgian women also became very 'free' and easy-going nowadays, just not quite as much as russians. In fact in soviet times Georgia was like a top destination for 'sex tourism', russian females(some even married ones) came here to spend a night with georgian males.

Georgia is a beautiful country. My memories of all my trips when I was younger and unmarried have a strong positive vibe. Kind, hospitable people in every corner of Georgia who are ready to help. A taxi driver can be a tour guide, take you to such beautiful and authentic places, introduce you to his family, feed you and give you Georgian homemade wine and chacha. I have never been hungry or sober. As for the Georgian daying. Yes, the younger generation is fast, passionate and knows what they want - sex. Foreign women are especially easy to contact. Perhaps this is the plan of foreign girls: to come and use Georgian guys - it remains to be seen who is using whom?)

Pleaseeee, remove those cuts from Russian movies 🤦 thats so insulting for us to be assossiated with Russians in any way! I hope you heard that 20% of Georgia is occupied by Russia.. we have great actors, great movies and culture in general to be used for your video. I could not watch it till the end. Using Russian movies is so annoying and insulting!.. Georgia is an independent country! Georgia is not and has never been a part of Russia! It was forcefully united even in Soviet Union! Georgia has a great history and culture of dozens of centuries! 🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪

I did not refer to you I guess :) There were Russian and Armenian actors in those movies and had nothing to do with Georgian cinematography. I dont know where she is from and how she can speak Russian, but its none of my business. I just dont like making connections between Georgia and Russia and these two are completely different countries. I would recommend her to make videos about Georgian food, culture, nature, history, occupation, our support to our biggest friend Ukraine and our European mentality that is stronger among new generation. I am a typical Georgian citizen and this is the worst video I have ever seen about Georgia 👌 To the author: I am sorry if I sound rude, but I think you should have concentrated on the more important and interesting aspects and chosen people who would give you more objective information about modern Georgian lifestyle. 👌

@@khatiafromgeorgia1061 I was talking about Georgian actors in general, geez... So, you haven't heard about Vakhtang Kikabidze, Georgiy Daneliya, Oleg Basilashvili? They were great cultural workers . I understand that you don't like that part of the history of your country, but at least you may pay respect to some famous people. And, when she showed that fragment she was referring about general stereotypes of Caucasus culture, not about Georgian people in general. I don't think that she wanted to insult you or something. I am as a Caucasian understood the point. Why can't you?

@@IoT_ I think we, Georgians know better which one is a piece of Georgian/Soviet Georgian cinematography and which - soviet r*ssian film; Keep your "with some good Georgian actors" absurd to yourself. There's not a single Georgian actor in a film/episodes she has used in this video. and our actors & directors are well-respected and as I've mentioned, they have nothing to do with the film used here. The video is about Georgians specifically and if you, as some caucasian, are that delighted to see this film in such way, ask her to include it in a video about your country, or some russian oblast, wherever you're from.
