oh, your story made my sad! I am really sorry to hear. I guess her family was just looking out for her so dont take it personally. If you still want to be by her side, then you just need to be firm and make your point. With a Vietnamese woman for 10 years, married for 5, I would say only about 3 of these things were really accurate to my personal experience. You may encounter some of these things with some Vietnamese women, but a lot of it was just not true at all. The things that were very true to me were the things about the food, singing karaoke in Vietnamese, and stuff with the parents/family. The rest was not my experience at all. It just depends on the girl's personality, family background, socio-economy background, exposure to other cultures, etc. Everybody's different. Some people are shy and reserved. Others are open and wear their heart on their sleeves. It's not all the same.
@tearsonblades81342 жыл бұрын
That is true, my girlfriend is very reserved, she’s often not into lovey-dovey talking and when she shows affection, it is done by actions, not words necessarily. However, if a Vietnamese girl don't ask you questions about two of you marriage or some kinds of stuff like that, it doesn't mean she doesn't truly love you (me for example, if I were in a serious relationship with a man, I'll only married when we have enough financial condition (to make sure we can take care of our own small family 😊) Haha but it's the fact that if a Vietnamese girl introduce you to her family (as her boyfriend), it mean you're the one she want to married :)))

Married to a Lao woman. I did not meet her dad for 2 years. I did not understand the concept of ready to marry. I had two strikes against me when I met her parents. I was not a Doctor or engineer. Also I was white. They envisioned their daughter marrying a Asian man with a business etc. When I met the great uncle. He found out I was in the Army and instantly liked me since he worked for the Military. The uncle was the highest ranking Lao American and everyone looked up to him. The concept of marrying the family I really enjoyed. Only problem was telling my wife we needed to take a vacation without them or not go over every Sunday. Many Asians will live with their parents even after marriage. My kids I gave them Lao middle names and always showed respect to elders etc. I still struggle with Asian people not respecting my culture. Most of them expect you to bend their way. It’s a fine balance. Nice video!

i talk about that on the first date . Good thing you are not dating me. After the first date me and my ex had 3 years before I told her that I date for the purpose of finding a wife and not for fun. If we were together for 6 months or more I would propose to her and marry her 6 months after that.

I’m Vietnamese American. I think a lot of these tips are pretty true even growing up stateside. I’ll admit, I’m concerned about the push for “dating Vietnamese women” and “not knowing Vietnamese” I feel strongly it’s important to learn and honor each other’s cultures when dating (leading to marriage). Healthy relationships are two-sided.

I agree with what you said but the problem is Vietnamese being a tonal language. Tonal languages are *extremely* hard for Westerners. Saying the wrong word by using the wrong tone. For example if I were dating a Chinese girl, I would hate to accidentally call her mother a horse.

I tried a few other sites as well, but I was specifically looking for a wife, not a one night stand, or a girlfriend. spending a solid 10 months, looking online about 8 hours a day to find the right woman to spend my life with, was definitely worth it.

Hey, so i wanted to comment, but didn't know how to, okay here it goes. I'm Vietnamese myself, and I'm estranged from both sides of my family. With this one relative, I always thought he cared about gossip and rumours and it just felt very high school. To get to the point, I thought my uncle only did the things he did to get his kids into the in crowd when they are in high school. (I'm so white washed, I don't know much about my culture. Dad, the Vietnamese one, left us, and my other half is Mandarin Chinese.) When you showed me the saving face portion, you really made me see what my culture is like and I was so far left... I'm crying. Thank you.

I can help you a bit there. - North Vietnamese women: have "sour" accent (in our language, we call it "cat's piss accent"). Appear cold, curt, reserved at first but are usually very loyal partners. Will stay with you through thick and thin and take on like 4 or 5 jobs to help you get back on your feet. Since they're dominant, they have a subconscious mind for being sadists in BDSM if you're into that sort of thing. Like mild tasting food. - Central Vietnamese women: have a somewhat more pleasant accent. Have a focus on studying so they like to argue a lot. Very frugal since many provinces in Central Vietnam are poor. They can be content with the domestic role (and are very sophisticated at it, how cool is that) as long as you outdo them in arguing or are able to provide for their whole clans. Like spicy food. - South Vietnamese women: have the "cutest, coddling" accent. The equivalence of blonde girls in the west (except that their hair is not blond). Party animals. Dress the most provocatively. Good for being girlfriends and the worst at being wife material. Like everything sweet.

Not me I like PDA as it is in Brazil. When you meet a girl on a date she expects you to kiss her cheek. On your way to the mall she expects to be necking in the subway car. Cinema is for making out not for watching movies. When she goes to the beach she wears as little clothing as possible. However if you dare look at another woman she will make certain you never do that ever again. God do I love Brazilian women.

2:22 After several hours of vigorous research we are finally ready to review this fan favorite: How good was dating a Vietnamese actually. And today we'll be covering these competitive formats. Gen 1 saw Vietnam as an absolute sweeper, even managing to cause a Pseudo-Legendary like Americanite, to shrudder in fear and (I apologize if I butcher your names) saw Ho Chi Minh place first in the Southeast Asian cold war regionals, using an unorthodox set that consisted of repeatedly using the move "Welcome to the Rice fields" and switching out using U-Turn, to maintain damage momentum.

@navnav8730 Жыл бұрын
It's a thing in many families where we don't say thank you to those who are really close to us like friends, boyfriends/girlfriends or family. It's considered too formal. But usually, Vietnamese will express their gratitude by acts of service or many other ways. But then again, this doesn't apply for all Vietnamese families, some of my friends are actually taught the opposite- to say thank you all the time even to their parents, but I think your case may fall on the first one.

My fiancée is Vietnamese, so I can relate to a lot of what is shown in this video. I never got slapped though lol. Little Easter egg in this video: the girl is singing Duyên phận, which is a song about a young girl who is to be married off to a stranger. She doesn’t know if he is a good man, or a bad one, or even if she ever wants to fall in love. It’s a song of uncertainty, and arguably a loss of innocence, as a young girl becomes a woman, and fulfills her obligations to her family and her community. The girl is also speaking with a Northern Accent. My fiancée speaks both Northern and Southern Vietnamese (they are distinct dialects), but because she is Southern Vietnamese, I chose to learn the Southern dialect from her. Chúc vui Tất 2023, các bạn Việt Nam!

I still remember a phone call with her grandparents, for which I was well prepared by her. I hadn't spoken French for years, but courtesy demanded that I speak to them as a "real" man without translation. There is one point missing from this presentation. Jealousy... and finally my reason to quit the relationship. Everything shown in this video I could and would have accepted but I was probably too western in some other issues. It was a clash of cultures... it was a good time and I learned many things... sadly it didn`t worked out... ;O)

I always wanted to date a Vietnamese woman. No, not cuz theyre asian or exotic. Its just that i hear that Mexicans really sync with Vietnamese, Korean, and Russian people. Especially Mexican guys, cuz thats what interests me being a guy. However, for me Vietnamese take the cake given that they take relationships more seriously and when looking for a partner, theyre more interested in their behavior and potential. So far everything from Vietnamese woman is perfect except 3:40, however thats more of a personal thing. To me when my partner is not around is time for me to catch up on other things like work, cleaning my place, gaming, eating at places i like but she might not, sleeping, etc... and i want to catch up on it as much as i can so my time with her can be more relaxing. However 6:03 is nice for me. I dont like PDA except hugging or holding hands and im really private about arguments between relationships. I believe its nobody's business to know if we fight or what goes on behind closed doors. Theres some people that talk about it or about their sex life and thats just so weird and uncomfortable to me.
