Very interesting. Might I ask why a conventional cut with the chamfer mill on foam? I was mesmerised by the aluminum part, even after 30 years of machine work. Nice.
@banny1234566 жыл бұрын
It's not really matter on foam materials. Regards.

lol, didn't figure it did, thought maybe there was a reason, guess not! Thanks for the reply, great vid!

Wasn't just the chamfer that was cut conventionally, my guess would be the material is pulled in when climb milled producing a poor finish. I haven't milled foam but I've milled rubber and I ended up doing my finish passes conventionally for the same reason.

It spray(or spraies... which one is correct? I'm not good at eng.. ) oil like mist.. is that because of high rpm?
@maulschmeiss68456 жыл бұрын
xX RUSH Xx it is a special way of lubrication called "minimal quantity lubrication". ( don't know if this is the right translation out of German language). Under (high) pressure they blow minimal amounts of oil onto the tool. just enough to have a thin film of oil for lubrication. Less oil less costs. And some other pros and cons. But that would lead way to far for YT comments. ;-)

Maul Schmeiss you are right sir.. it's oil mist .

How much does this machine cost? Just the base price without tooling. Haas machine tools company lists their prices. I think everybody should do this so one could compare pricing between companies without bothering anyone for the price. Just saying...

Haas makes a great machine for the money. Japanese machines might be better, but they also cost significantly higher.

The machine is cutting fast but material removal rate is slow!
@johannesbarnard87676 жыл бұрын
i suppose because they using no coolent most of the time they take smaller cuts and more passes.
@hamendrachavda59146 жыл бұрын
Why "coolant" is not used in this operation?
@banny1234566 жыл бұрын
there is a coolant, spraying directly on the tool. Evaporating of this lub and coolant ensure endothermic reaction to make everything cool.

Konely King I can only imagine that the 'XZ' radius that little ball end cutter was cutting was actually not programmed as a radius at all but thousands of linear movements. Hard for such little servos or scales to keep up with the controller, without extreme look ahead and buffering this little machine probably doesn't quite have. Did a good job with it, but jerky nonetheless.

It really doesn't matter much if you're making a couple of pieces. Only if your making 100's or 1000's.
