Great news that the brakes are working fine without having to buy new parts, that really is a sweet little car.

I helped an old chap I new many years ago to keep one of these going, he loved it but it rusted for fun, at one time you could buy fibreglass panels for a lot of rust prone cars in the UK and I fitted two front wings to his and plated over a lot of rust. It lasted him until he gave up driving, happy days playing with banger cars as we called them, still doing it now with a classic mini 😂

The brake calipers are similar in design to the Austin Allegro and Maxi, most of these 120Y's dissolved if I remember correctly, nice to see an example of one still around

When you really want to stop with a project car, it's a good idea to make the brakes work... :P

Oh yeah! I still remember my brake job on 240 ;). Learned a lot that time. So satisfying when there are no leaks and bleeding goes well ;). Great job! Also love how all the brake pipes and hoses are routed in the engine bay. That's a mark of good design!

So wacky to see the differences from yours to mine, the rear shocks in Australia are very chunky for out roads back in the 70s, a lot of dirt roads back then

You should be able to get used parts from a dryer country to get the breaking dust shields :)

I had a 50% success rate with rebuilt brake hydraulic parts (not counting the visually hopeless ones), but since i got a brake cylinder honing tool, never had a post assembly leak 😎 highly recommended, especially for long time out of use parts, those always have rusty spots, worn shiny patches or other things on their inner surfaces which you can most likely fix with that tool :)

Actually I got one! but it was very nice inside to be honest so dont think it was needed... :)

I forgot about that clever adjuster on the rear brakes. Isn't there a rubber plug to allow access from the rear of the brake assembly? I think it's terrific that you are trying to repair and re-use wherever possible. Great vid as always.

Yes I think there was! :) its really clever!

I remarked before how I could remember the great brakes on these early datsuns .Pity about the way they rusted as the engineering was fantastic and thy hardly had any oil leaks.

I am in Sri Lanka. I have a B 310 Duston car sir. I removed the carburetor and built it. After that, the oil burns a lot, what should I do? Can you fix it quickly? Thank you very much
