She's brilliant, really. Taking another simple Top Forty song, slowing it down, adding the perfect medley of live instruments rather than sound effects off a souped-up computer. The only special effect is an echo, but it only is being used to make the voice sound that more sultry. I could listen to this song for countless hours. I wish I had even just a pinch of her talent.

It's really funny that you say that, cause Daft Punk actually mixes their own sounds by actually playing the tunes. Their goal is to give the instrumental feel back to tech music. Calling it souped-up computer sound effects is a bit disrespectfull, seeing how much time and energy they actually put in their music. I have no problems with this tune though, it's lovely.

My goodness, I didn't know it was possible to make this song actually good. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Daft Punk fan, but this has always been my least favorite. But the way she sings it is so beautiful. It changes what I've always looked at as a surface level party song and gives it meaning. "We've come too far to give up who we are" sounds like it's mocking the rest of the lyrics, mocking the culture where people's only interest is sex and have lost actual meaning in their lives

I just want to say that the reason the cover may seem out of place is because it was done for the BBC Radio One Live Lounge where they get artists/bands to play a random song (mostly from a different genre the artists are known for doing) in their own style. Daughter had to do a cover of "get lucky" by daft punk and created this as the conclusive result. Other songs made in the live lounge doesn't really fit the lyrics and melody because in today's world, genres always have a similar style of lyrics to the type of melody. so obviously, mixing genres like this can be strange

People hear what they want to hear and they see what they want to see.
