Not dehumanizing them or saying anything hateful. And his characterization of a white dude was pretty neutral, all things considered. Yeah that's the thing about great stand up comedians, you'd think it's "in between" stuff, but everything is written and rewritten, everything is a build up to a joke, and that joke itself contains small jokes. But all that comes off so natural and has such a good ryrhm to it, that you really think the guy is just talking.

In most instances they actually add in a laugh track to some shows because either the microphone doesn't pick up the audience or they do it to make the televised version more entertaining to watch. It's easier to laugh when you assume other people are laughing.
