Been a Dave Edmunds fan ever since I first heard his amazing version of Sabre Dance way back in ‘68. He’s one of the greatest R&R guitarists of all time and one of those rare musicians who is incapable of playing a bad gig… he’s an absolute legend who never got the commercial success his phenomenal talent deserved. My personal favourite ‘Dave era’ was when he was in Rockpile… one of the best live bands you could ever wish to see, usually in intimate, medium sized venues & always for a very reasonable price.

His 1977 Get It LP was Blitz Magazine's pick for the Best Album Of The 1970s. Truly one of rock and roll's absolute masters! God bless him.

what a blistering version of this rock n roll classic, I don't think i ever have seen a better version of it . Dave Edmunds absolutely owns it . Todays music seems to has lost its way and has so little passion , fire and soul about it . Here is one of the truly great live performers, no autotune, no over dubs just raw talent unleashed ,

What I like especially about this is, apart from that one little senior moment (which we all have), he sang the right words. Which is more than most people do.

Got to love that drummer... just sold my record collection a few months back and Love Sculpture was one the albums in my collection. I held for a little extra cash on that one, Along with Gary moore's Skid Row.

Correct me if i am wrong,,,, Dave Edmunds,,, had a band called Love Sculpture in the late 60's, early 70's ???? They did a classic version of a very old Russian song,,, The Sabre Dance i think,,, brillant guitar work by Edmunds,,, a friend of mine had the album,, way back then. Come on Dave,, you must read this shit,, to keep the ego going,,, am i correct ?
@bryanmclellan85467 жыл бұрын
You are correct
@2011littlejohn16 жыл бұрын
Yes it was the late 60's. Also his version of I Hear You Knockin' is one of the best things ever - John Lennon rated it very highly - that was an amazing record it featured Andy Fairweather on slide guitar who previously was the front man( in a suit), for 60's band Amen Corner. Both of these guys just keep playing away getting success but never really becoming household names - strange really as the music business itself must rate them.

Dave Edmunds is probably technically better than Chuck Berry, but he doesn't have Chuck's originality. Much as I admire Edmunds, I would rather watch Berry play Berry, but not necessarily listen to Berry playing Berry
