That answer my question in my post! I know when it comes to amateur racing, suspension is usually overlooked as people do not have the skills to set it up properly or invest time to learn it well enough to actually make better lap times on a race track. Thank you Sir :)

Dave Moss is seen as the suspension god to a certain subset of rider's here in the US, I have no idea why though. Plenty of people you can meet at the track who are as knowledgeable or more so in my experience. One thing is for sure, he has a knack for making videos from 2018 feel like they are from 2008.

We had Dave Moss come to a two day race event in NZ. Saw mixed results from his work. Side story. The local city council rented the upstairs corporate suites at the race track for a 21st birthday on the night between the two days. Most of the racers were camped in trailers etc on site. What an absolute shambles that was. Vomit everywhere outside the pit sheds, on the carpets, inside the sign on office, broken windows etc. Girls were even pissing in the pits between racers trucks and trailers then falling in it. One hell of a party, but it was a complete disgrace and Hella embarrassing for everyone involved on day two.

Hi Matt , wondering if you could settle an argument for me? We are two old duffers my mates very sciency i'm not.A given hill constant gradient and headwind at a indicated 2000RPM , the bike slows to 1800RPM lowering the speed, my mate says increasing the RPM back to 2000 will maintain the given speed, i think this is bollocks, would love your thoughts whether i'm right or wrong. Thanks.
@dirtygarageguy Жыл бұрын
So you're saying the bike is at 2000rpm before the hill and going up the hill causes the bike to drop to 1,800 rpm? Then your mate is saying if the bike increases its rpm to 2,000 the speed is the same? If this is the question then yes, that is true, only if there's no slip I'm the type.. What changes is throttle position. The road speed and engine speed are directly coupled. (Without slip, which includes the clutch) what happens is the engine load is increases and therefore you have to add more fuel for the same rpm. Think of it like this. You have an engine on a dyno, and you apply the brakes slowly. As the engine slows down you add more throttle to try yo keep it at 2,000 rpm.

If you keep using the emergency stop switch in normal day usage, the one time that you need it in an emergency, it won't work. When I was a motorcycle instructor, we used to tell students not to use it except in an emergency. They are quite durable switches, but overuse will break it.This Dave is a proper mechanic indeed......more like a tool !!!!
@JunkCCCP Жыл бұрын
This is complete bullshit. How many times do you have to click an engine stop switch to wear it out? Besides by the time you do get close to wearing it out, it will start to not work very well and will need to be clicked or jiggled, and at that point you'll know it needs replacing. At least if you use it regularly - you're unconsciously aware of where it is and what it does so you don't have to think about it in an accident and will just use it
