Our was a damned good concert. *except* two step. Although we did get to hear it since as an acoustic version one summer when they had a double show. The 90's was the last decade where we had our privacy. Cell phones didn't really become commonplace until the very late 90's and they pretty much just made phone calls and texts. The internet was young, so you couldn't do much on it. Social media was practically non-existent and it certainly couldn't disrupt your life. I honestly feel sorry for young people who never knew what life was like before all this technology. It was nice and sometimes I really miss it. Oh, and the music was much better then, too.

My dad loved DMB. He would listen to them everyday. I was young and didn’t know what the lyrics meant at the time, but hearing this song immediately transports me back to his house and car where he would blast this song. 7 years without him and I listen to DMB all the time and feel him with me.

I am a Dad of 4 girls, I cried after reading this comment, still crying, actually. Your comment really touched my heart, I listen to DMB with my 4 litle girls all the time, they will sing the words, and now i know when they are older it will always be with them these tiny little moments that just seem like just another day to me. Thank you.

I was at work the other day and couldn't stop thinking about my little younger brothers. I moved away from my mom and dad's house a few years ago and my little brother's are still there. They used to say: "I'm the king of the castle and your a dirty rascal" singing the lyrics of this song. I immediately thought of this song and how they sang it. It reminded me of when they were small kids and how they used to play and use their imagination to dream up the best happy things. I can only imagine the places their imagination took them. It was a beautiful time, seeing my little brothers happy and young. This song is so melancholy and nostalgic for me. It reminds of when my younger family members were in their absolute innocence and happines. I wish I could go back in time and share that careless happines and imagination with them. I wish I could go dream with them. But that is impossible. I am now a grown father and realize the importance of childhood and how important the small moments are and how we must indulge in our those dreams with our kids/young family. Those moments are actually the most important times. I would love to go back in time and enjoy that time with my young siblings. In hindsight I never knew that my young siblings would soon make me feel the way my son makes feel, like a parent to them. I always thought they would seem like my younger siblings, but my love and memories has evolved in to something more complex and parent like. Its amazing actually...Anyway, they are nearly teenagers now and the time has gone by so fast. I miss them and I miss their childhood.

thecraftteens So, following your logic Nicki Minaj and Vanilla Ice makes good music, who is the delusional?
@MoneyKateOlsen8 жыл бұрын
emperor81 Nicki and Vanilla make music, period. Same as Dave Matthews. Because one has been revered and the other lambasted by the general public means NOTHING. Music is subjective--there is no right and wrong answer, and there's no such thing as "good" or "bad" music, but thinking makes it so, to use a famous quote. That millions of people like Dave Matthews means nothing except that millions liked that particular song or album by that particular artist. Numbers mean nothing--if they did, the countless Babylonians believing that the word was flat means that the world is actually flat. Music is music, and then again, it's music. The problem comes when people try to be elitist and holier-than-thou and claim they know what "real music" is.

First class, first row, three chairs back was the first time I saw the person who'd become my future Ex wife. I was married to her for 15 years before our time expired. Life is a peculiar journey. Even as a boy, I knew she was SOMEBODY on that day. I just didn't know who exactly until now.

We did not live close and I was so afraid she was going to forget me because I couldn’t go visit all the time. I always played this song for her in her hospital crib when I went to visit her and she knew it was me after a while after like 3 seconds of playing this.
