Came here from the Ryler Walker article. Man, I remember taping this to my DV camcorder and rushing it into Windows Movie Maker so I could share it with the Ants and ASTB forums via my AIM getfile late that night. I felt so cool. I'd die if this was the same source file...

It's crazy to me the lillywhite sessions are considered unfinished, but I cant live without them. I can't imagine a world where I never heard Monkey Man. It doesn't get played otherwise.

Carson always liked dmb and Dave at the time was going thru the same old song and dance with old stuff is better that most bands go thru, so Carson is not going to say to their face your old stuff is better and new stuff sucks. So he could of worded it better.

Carson: “What would you say in that last hour?” Dave: *turns to Boyd* “Boyd, where’d you get that shirt?!” Camera cuts to Boyd with a shirt that says Vancouver.

Dick comment from Carson. The “old stuff” is the best
@drewostaszewski36357 жыл бұрын
But you can see that he was either ill prepared, star struck or just high, because last call was not TRL its adults watching he did not transition to the adult late night format., and yet NBC put him on the Today show ( I think)
@robertfranklin352510 жыл бұрын
All you people complaining about Carson's questions are overlooking how awesome it is that he dedicated an entire show to DMB. That shit is awesome and he earned the right to ask any question he wants. He was/is obviously a fan so why bitch?

Once you realize, and/or hear, that Dave was diagnosed with Aspergers at 40 yrs old...it all starts to make sense... Puzzle pieces that had been missing over years and years of tour ramblins and awkward interviews as hilarious and genuine also words bumblin' over themselves, as they were, or, had been, begin to amalgamate in such a way, that Dave's no longer that puzzle he was for so long, to all of us, or, to weeeeeeeeee! "You're the beast in the lovers' arms / You're the devil in a sweet, sweet, kiss / You're missing a piece / You're a puzzle to me!" "What You Are" _Busted Stuff_ -- DMB --

Back when they were still them. Still had the magic. They just sound like bored virtuosos nowadays.

Are you depressed? They sound incredible these days and have plenty of ‘magic’.
@adamr23263 жыл бұрын
Sheesh. No joke. Carson was awful in this one. Thankfully, the music is the only reason I’d watch this. Some weird unprepared (or not well thought out) questions.
