@@dandyhighwayman4411 A d-shaped neck will have a little more shoulder before the curvature begins, hence it being thicker, usually. The neck on the guitar in question is more similar to a slim taper, like late 70s Gibsons came with.

It's sort of thinner, but wider and the curve is longer and thicker than most guitars, but exactly the same as all guitairs that have a thinner, thicker shaped C. It's also wider, but because it's thinner, it seems smaller and shorter like a D...but it kind of feels thinner, wider, thicker and longer than every other guitar.

@@RolanTHUNDER Yeah, I hear you. The Dean brand is actually my least favorite of Dave's signatures. It's called the neck radius, Dave.
@wbfaulk8 ай бұрын
Usually "radius" is used to describe the curve of the fingerboard, which is not what he's describing. The back of the neck, where your palm goes, almost never has a consistent radius, even in a single cross-section, so trying to describe it with a radius is a losing proposition. "C" and "D" are common descriptors for neck shape, though.

With the high quality low cost guitars available in today's market ..fender gibson ibanez jackson should be doing quality artist series instruments for $350. Selling them to be wall hangers does nothing for the brands. Get them in the hands of high-school kids who have no choice but to buy cheaper instruments.
@fermiticus40349 ай бұрын
This is a pretty amazing time, for guitars. When I was in H.S....generic, low quality, no name brands cost $2-300. Big name brands were in the $700+ range. Here we are, 30 years later, and you can get a decent quality, big name brand guitar in the $3-500 range...and wages are triple what they were 30 years ago. A few years ago, I bought a "cheap" Jackson Rhoads...w/ reverse headstock and sharkfin inlays, for about $350 (new). Quality-wise, it's about the equivalent of the Charvel Avenger (Rhoads) that cost me $600, back in 91.

I bought an Ibanez for 600 at guitar center. Man, it was a mistake buying the guitar because it would never tune to the standard E and would be tuned a whole step down even if I tightened the strings. Something to do with the tremolo. The Tremolo action would touch the strings and should be raised or it would not make the note dive correctly. I mean it was a piece of junk. I would however like to get a B.C. Rich warlock guitar for $1799.00. But I've got to wait for it to be in stock and I'm still questioning if I should get this guitar or not.
