I like seeing this side of Dave. The tough love, no nonsense money guy persona can be a lot to handle after a while. But seeing him have a more human and intimate conversation like this is refreshing.

By virtue of being human, we make mistakes, sometimes big ones. At age 65 and the oldest of six children, the wisdom that comes with life experience can't be matched and is often underrated. Our progeny will one day understand this. In the meantime, all we can do is our best with what we know and grow from our mistakes.

At the end when he was talking about his granddaughter hit me hard. Never had any of that growing up at a kid. Had to figure out how to speak to myself like this. So glad I found dave ramsey back in 2016. Changed my whole perspective on life.

respect to Dave on taking the lawnmower apart. i took apart my dad's watch when i was like four years old and got in big trouble. but now i'm a software engineer. i love what you do and would love to work for you guys, but i'm an atheist and only work remotely, so it probably wouldn't work out

I could believe they’re also atheists.. it’s just better financially to be religious!

I knew there was something I had a strong connection with Dave about. I’m the same exact way, no point in having an opinion if you cannot defend it.

Yoooo this video is tripping me out. I’m a guy mid 20s dad wasn’t around much blah blah and man Dave’s description of how he gets intimacy from arguing & stuff is blowing my mind.

What drives the search for wisdom? Fear of God. “If you seek after her (wisdom) as silver and hidden treasure then you will understand fear of God, and find the knowledge of God”. Proverbs Chapter 2. Seeking wisdom brings a person to fear of God. Fear of God brings a person to seek (more) wisdom. Why inquisitive Dave? I believe it’s a search for meaning, ie. God.

Either he doesn't know the definition of the word intimacy, or I don't.

I'm also a type 8, and i gain intimacy through arguements. It's not arguing in the form of fighting, it's thought provoking discussions and having my beliefs challenged that really gets my gears grinding.

Very awkward lol. He admits it though.

It's not his forte, but he's a good listener. I'm pretty sure this is his first radio show and it's only been going like 6 months. Best interviewer I've heard so far on podcasts is probably Paula Pant with Afford Anything. She does a great job of asking questions and generally staying out of the way letting the interview focus on the other person. Most of us have way too much of a temptation to involve ourselves more and add input--it's hard to avoid.

John definitely has better interview skills than I do. Lol
