Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly.

Building wealth from nothing involves consistent saving, disciplined spending, and strategic investments. Begin by creating a budget to track expenses and identify areas for savings. Prioritize paying off high-interest debt and establishing an emergency fund. As you build a foundation, start investing in low-cost options like index funds, and focus on continuous learning and improving your skills for better income opportunities.

I think the one thing most investors miss when calculating intrinsic value, is that they look solely at the history to estimate growth in the future. The growth rate is very important, it arguably should take the most time in valuation. The past 10 years could be unusually good/bad due to acquisitions/dispositions affecting financials. Look to the future and make your best judgements.

My father introduced Dave Ramsey to me when I was 18 but I didn’t too much care (being young & dumb) to listen & now 8 years later I’m 26 years old & something fell into my spirit to go listen to this show & I did. When I tell you I feel a spiritual change within myself that I’m so grateful for & regretful at the same time for not listening then but thank you God for allowing me to mature enough to follow my intuition. This show has been a blessing to me individually, spiritually, financially & to my marriage. Thank you Dave for your teachings & thank you God for the understanding you’ve given me at the age I am. I needed to hear this being in the generation where social media influences our behaviors & mindsets!!

This was amazing! I have been practicing tortoise (and Ramsey) methods since my 20s (now early 40s). We were able to 'retire early' due to our baby steps plan and we can testify this is true. We paid off our (affordable) house afte13 years and now we live like no one else, summering in another state and living the dream. Both of these men are so brilliant and I loved the combo and synergy in this interview. Thank you!

I taught Dave's FPU course to the community for a few years since my Dad and Mom taught me the very same principles when I was growing up, so it was so easy to share with others. Basic Money management principles are timeless. The fundamentals don't change. Behavior is THE foundation for everything. Understand what's behind the behavior and then it's easier to execute. ❤
