Oasis & The Verve, my favourite bands from the 90's. This was probably their most popular show before they broke up. It was their homecoming broacasted by BBC. The next song in the setlist is one of my favourites, 'weeping willow' with the funky intro 'neon wilderness'. I just love the sounds they created together.

Ive been a huge oasis fan but have never listened to the verve. Hearing this right here just blew me away. Is there any songs you would recommend?

​@@masonmennell8514 The first two albums are different from Urban Hymns. Some people love these two the most while others think Urban Hymns is the ultimate masterpiece. Urban Hymns is like the first Richard Ashcroft solo album, but with The Verve members as musicians and production, they gave it together the perfect touch. Their last reunion album Forth has some good tunes too. These are my favourite ones from each album, including B-Sides, I hope it helps you: A Storm in Heaven: Gravity Grave, One Way to Go, A Man Called Sun, All in the Mind, Blue, No Come Down, Virtual World, She's a Superstar. A Northern Soul: This is Music, Life's an Ocean, On Your Own, History, Drive You Home, Let the Damage Begin. Urban Hymns: Weeping Willow, Sonnet, Lucky Man, The Drugs Don't Work, This Time, The Rolling People, One Day, Come On, The Longest Day, Echo Bass. Forth: Love is Noise, Valium Skies, Noise Epic, Columbo, I See Houses, Muhammad Ali. And as a final bonus, a track never released, but it was leaked among others from early sessions (You can find it on youtube): Sweet and Sour.

Early Verve was so psychedelic, all songs came from jamming and grooves. This particular song draws heavily from Aphrodite’s Child’s song The Four Horsmen. I love that you two are living these 90’s britpop bands. Oasis, The Verve and Ocean Colour Scene were my particular 3 favourites. Keep diving into these bands. You’re venturing down an amazing rabbit hole of great songs.

I love The Verve! This record is one of the best of the '90s. Congrats on the 8k subs, by the way! 👏 P.S.: Give Stone Temple Pilots a chance. They were genuinely a great band with good compositions. There are some hidden gems in their records.

I forgot to mention that, if you fall into The Verve music like you did with Oasis, they have an specific VHS (not even DVD 😅) documentary called 'This is the Verve: Do not Panic' US Tour Film. In it, you have a mix of music and stories of their 1997 US tour, that I love. It could give you and idea of how they lived their american experience at the top of their success.

All of the songs on that album Urban Hyms great. But Sonnet, The drugs don't work, bittersweet symphony and lucky man are the best imo. Great band ❤

Dave and I are on the same page. With the grunge, give me Soundgarden and only Soundgarden. I don’t like any of the rest of it. To angsty and depressive. Not to mention, that time of music was the death of the guitar solo. Thanks for the great reaction guys.

nah we werent overloaded with grunge ,we had it i think on a friday but on saturday it was acid house /rave,techno in the official clubs ,no grunge in the illegal rave parties.

The verve, rated but underrated at the same time...maybe cos it wasnt 1970 and not cool to have someone doing heroine even back then but then again all the 70s band were on it should have been embraced and loved not thrown to one side.....Ashcrofts new stuff worth a video or two 👍

it was a great time for music in the 90s artists like oasis, the verve, blur, the charlatans, manic street preachers, pulp, the prodigy and many more dominating the charts grunge was also big over here but i was never into it though did like some stuff from the states like the chilli peppers and korn said it a million times before it was the last great decade for music, been god awful since

@@orbytl2799 I think ot already started declining all the way back in the 80s look at the state of some of the music in that decade. And you gotta say the 90s wasn't much better, the only difference is now there is NO good bands and back then atleast there were a lot of good stuff as well as shit. All downhill from the 60s I would say and I'm 17 so I'm looking at it from a non nostalgic view.

@@Jimbob_sc there was just as much rubbish music about in the 60s tbh until the beatles it was all crap and the early beatles stuff imo aint great but it made an impact last few years of the 60s was when the best stuff was created

I can remember reading or hearing, that most band's not from America. Had to spend large amounts of time, over and over again. Trying to crack America and your radio stations. Alot of bands, couldn't be bothered to do that!
